There were also popups that "hitchhiked" along with regular ads.. ones that attached themselves sneakily with javascript. They were unauthorized and we disabled them as often as we could identify them. those all seem to have disappeared since. There shouldn't be ANY popups on this site except for some anonymous users. So no - popup blockers don't hurt us one bit
