They were seven teenagers when they first stumbled upon the horror. Now they were grown-up men and women who had gone out into the big world to gain success and happiness. But none of them could withstand the force that drew them back to Derry, Maine to face the nightmare without an end, and the evil without a name. What was it? Read It and find out...if you dare!

I have only read the book once and have never seen the movie and I am the sort of person who needs to read most books twice to take it all in, so I might need to read this one three times to really have this one understood. I will certainly read it again.

But I think it was really good. I like the sort of books that flash back from present to past like that, it makes it harder to grasp sometimes but adds to the intensity of the book.

I didn't find it particularly scary, but does anyone really get scared by books these days? No nightmares, no looking around while I was reading to see if I was being watched. It's just a good read.

The movie is kind of dorky. It does follow the general story and characters of the book, though the arrangement and quite a few details are changed or omitted. Also, it's pretty tame as far as violence goes (plus it's hella long). Though if you want to see a young Seth Green, it's kind of cool.

The book, I found, was scary. I find the characters and the story interesting, and really feel this is King's best work, besides, perhaps, 'Salem's Lot. Though I can't see myself reading it again in the near future...

It was not one of my favorite King books.

I had a girlfriend in school who was so scared by the movie that she put something over the plug hole in the shower everytime she had a shower!

I haven't read this one yet. An old copy (bought at a used book sale for 10 cents -cheap bastard-) is sitting on my shelf, just waiting.......

Kevin: Remember that one time when I ate those napkins?
Me: (laughing) Yeah.
Kevin: That was funny. Do you remember what made me do it?
Me: I'm pretty sure you just said, "Hey, watch me eat these napkins".
Kevin: (laughing) Yeah, that sounds about right.
