I've been reading (and writing) fan fiction about Ron and Hermione and everyone seems sure they want to be together but the question seems to be does Ron know already or does he need to figure it out. Everyone seems to think, and I agree, that Hermione knows but does Ron? The perfume suggests he does, so does Krum's ripped off arm but I'm not sure. He seems to be pretty dense when it comes to Hermione and his feelings for her. But that's the problem, we can't every really know what they're thinking. All we know is what Harry thinks and he's too rapped up in himself to notice other people. What do you think?

Is it just me, or was something going on between Ron and Hermione during the last half of Goblet of Fire? I love your books, by the way, and two of them I've read straight through cover to cover in under 24 hours.
Well done on your reading speed! Yes, something's "going on", but Ron doesn't realize it, yet. Typical boy.
I think he was finally figuring it out in book 5. I think the kiss on the cheek that she gave him before his game sent shockwaves through him and finally made him wake up and smell the pheromones. After that, he hardly bickered with her at all, agreed with her more, bought her perfume, came out and actually said he doesn't understand girls and that she should write a book, asked her about her future plans, got jealous about her writing to 'Vicky', and told her Harry's secrets. Yeah, I think he's finally understanding his own feelings. But I don't think that he knows she likes him too. After being rejected by Fleur, I think he may be a bit gun shy about asking another girl out again. I think Ginny needs to step in and help these two out. Or there has to be an intervention. Everyone can see they like each other, but neither seems like the type to make the first move. We'll have to wait and see I guess. If it doesn't happen in book 6, I don't know if it will happen.
Interesting. I agree with you though on the fact that he must be realising it by now because no on (not even Ron) is that dense. But for everyone asking someone out or telling them you fancy them is awful. No one likes to put themselves out there with the risk of getting shot down. And if you think someone is really wonderful you won't think they like you back will you. It's all about insecurity. I think it's a shame Fred and George left Hogwards because they would have been funny in making Ron and Hermione see. I guess we have to rely on Ginny. I mean it's too hard to just tell you best friend of 5 years or so that you fancy the crap out of them isn't it?
I'm getting really scared that JKR is leaving it hanging in the air until book 7 for the dramatic affect or something. In a way that would be nice but I would prefer it if she just had them get together in book 6.
