I thought the Opening Ceremoney was awesome, but the Closing Ceremony was a bit too cheesy .
The sportsmanship shown by the athletes was absolutely fabulous, while the judging was a bit on the dodgy side.
The crowds left a lot to be desired in the early stages, but filled as the events got bigger and no matter whether there were 50 people at the event or 50,000, whether it was a heat or a final, the crowd all cheered for the athletes.
The most athletes ever, the most nations ever, a very successful games all together.
Can't wait for Beijing, I think their Opening Ceremony is going to be like nothing you've ever seen before and will blow people's minds.
Hehehe I heard Chinese Taipei won it's first 2 medals. Neat stuff.
Off topic: who remembers them announcing Sydney won the 2000 Olympics, and a fair few people in Beijing started cheering when they heard their Cities name mentioned in the announcing speech... still cracks me up to remember it

I remmeber when Sydney was announced. I was in high school. They even made of those corny songs about it, using a sound bite from the speech "And the winner is ..... Sydney", it was a hit! God, we were lame
