MTV organizers are ensuring celebrity guests at this Sunday's Video Music Awards will not be tempted to snub the event -- by offering them goodie bags worth $20,000.
Stars like Jennifer Lopez, Christina Aguilera, Gwyneth Paltrow, Jessica Simpson and Paris Hilton will be rewarded with designer jewelry, sunglasses, cosmetics and gym memberships for turning up to the Los Angeles show.
Among the free gifts will be a $900 Italian-made charm bracelet and a portable audio system.
An MTV insider says, "They are lavish gifts and it seems unfair that they go to people with wads of cash. The bigger you are, the less you have to pay for."
$900.00 bracelets? Audio Systems? $20,000.00 in total! Is MTV just made of money? I mean how many of these bags are they giving away? At least 5 from just that list ^. Holy crap!!!
Hip-hop supremo Sean "P. Diddy" Combs was handed a $16,000 diamond-encrusted iPOD gift at the MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) on Sunday.
The Bad Boy Records boss presented an award at the star-studded bash at the American Airlines Arena in Miami, Fla., and was given the expensive music player for his troubles.
HP and Apple commissioned Adrian Van Anz to spend two weeks covering Diddy's iPod with 120 diamonds and his Sean John logo in white gold.
Anz enthuses, "I signed confidentiality agreements with all of them, so unfortunately I can't give you any names. But it's safe to say, a lot of agents, musicians and studio heads have contacted me."
