Micheal Carrick has been a target of many premiership teams this transfer window. He has had interest from West Brom, Everton, Blackburn, Crystal Palace, Portsmouth, Tottenham and even Arsenal.
At one point he looked set to sign for Pompey but interest from Arsenal turned him away from that deal, He then looked set to sign for Arsenal but they lost interest.
Now with Pompeys Chairman Milan Mandaric and Chief excutive Peter Storrie angry with Carrick keeping them in the dark about his intentions, and Pompey Boss Harry Redknapp frustraited with both the loss of the original deal and the time it has taken for the second deal, the south-coast club have seemingly lost interest.
With Evertons financial problems and lack of interest from Palace, Blackburn and West Brom it seem it is either Tottenham or West Ham.
Lets face it Tottenham are not the great team they used to be and are one of my relegation candidates, even with their new manager and signings. And Carrick obviously wants top class football.
He can only blame himself for not taking the opportunity to join with Pompey. Not that I'm saying its the wrong decision but Harry Redknapp is a manager that Carrick knows and trusts and Milan Manadaric is an ambitious chairman and he would have played almost every game with Portsmouth and gotten experiance in the top flight.
If it wasn't for Arsenal he would be a Pompey Player. He can only blame himself and Arsenal for only having the choice of signing for a bottom six Tottenham Hotspurs team or a Championship top six team.
