THE Black Eyed Peas have announced they'll collaborate with Sting on their new album.
Singer Fergie and the rest of the group are currently working on the follow-up album to Elephunk. And, as the group posed for a photo with the former Police frontman, Fergie said: 'We are collaborating with some legendary folks such as James Brown and Sting.'
It's not the first time that Sting has teamed up with younger acts. Last year, he got to No.2 with the Craig David duet Rise & Fall.
I wasn't a big fan of Sting's duet with Craig David. It was alright, but nothing special. Somehow Sting + Black Eyed Peas don't seem to go to well together. I wonder what it will be like?
PASS THE PEAS!: James Brown contributes to Black Eyed Peas track.
*The Godfather of Soul, James Brown, blessed the track “They Don’t Want Music” for the forthcoming Black Eyed Peas album “Monkey Business,” due in early 2005. Brown recorded his vocals before announcing that he’ll undergo surgery for prostate cancer before year’s end.
The members of the Peas were supposed to release solo albums in 2005, but they decided to wait and take advantage of the group’s momentum following the success of their album “Elephunk,” which sold 2 million copies and scored two Grammy nominations last year, along with another four this year.
Group member Will.I.Am says he already prefers “Monkey Business” over “Elephunk.”
"It's fresh, it's dope, and seriously, I'm not just saying it 'cause it's ours," he told MTV. “We recorded the majority of it in London for two months, and Brazil and here in the States on airplanes, hotel rooms, bus lobbies, museums and bathrooms."

That would've been cool, but somehow I don't think they would be very succesful. I think one more BEP album and then they can all go and do solo ones. I think the public needs more exposure to them as a group first.
