Yeah, um, I don't think i've ever seen someone get so upset about a story. PJ MUST have had a good reason to kill haldir and stuff. i mean, it probably wasn't just something that occured to him while he was lying in bed at night.
Shadow Stalker said this in post #78 : i'm still confused...what the bloody heck is up with Haldir. he is hardly a major character in the book, same with the movies....ah well whatever.
Plus Haldir died in a valient way in the books, by fighting for Middle Earth. It was made even more valiant because he was not fighting for himself, he gave his life for mankind, something extremely courageous for an elf to do.

I think Tolkein is the Shakespeare of his time (just not as fast at writing ) and PJ is the Baz Lurhmann doing the adapting to film (did anyone complain about him using guns as swords?)
