I just watched this last night - excellent flick. Another side of the war (Poland) and the view that you would get from being a Jew in Warsaw - departs from the formula of many WW2 flicks that reveals what is in store for the hero of the story by switching to the enemy's side and showing what their goals, motives, etc. are. This film puts you into the middle of the terror scenes and keeps you every bit as confused and suffering as the Jews. Though I am tired of repetetive WW2 stories, this one was quite thought provoking (and graphic, so beware!)

What an amazing movie!

I ordered it on pay-per-view when it was still a new release. It really was nice to see another perspective on WW11. Long overdue, if you ask me!

The next day, I forced my friends and family to watch it. They all loved it as much as I did.

Those of my friends who chose not to watch it, received the DVD in nice little unmarked gift bags for their birthdays!

I saw a pretty good flick the other night on DVD.....Beyond Borders with Angelina Jolie and an Australian actor, Clive Owens.
He's a doctor and a relief worker in Ethiopia, later on in the movie he is in Cambodia and toward the end he is in Chechnya.
She is a wealthy woman who is really moved by the speech made by the doctor at a high priced benefit party. She gets several truckloads of food and meds together and goes with it to Ethiopia. Of course there is a love story entwined in it but mostly it is about the extreme suffering by the poor people that could have been alleviated had it not been for the greed of the government. One of the best movies I've seen for a while.
