It was going to be Wednesday night but who knows. The theatre that was doing it for the employees is having a midnight show so I have a feeling, no, I wont be seeing it.
I FINALLY got a chance to see Casino Royale, yes yes I know I saw it really late and if we gave it another week or so it probably will not even be in theatres for much longer, BUT, I went with my dad to an uber awesome theatre near by me and I must say, it gets 2 Cheddar Cheese Thumbs Up. I'm a huge fan of the classic 007's and Sean Connery kicks major ass, and in my opinion none of the other James Bond's from the other movies never even came close to being as good as Connery... Roger Moore was close, but, I don't know, he just didn't have that.. hmm... "sparkle" I guess you could call it. In other words, Connery was just a big dog and he truly did set a standard that nobody could measure up to as good. I was very very very dissapointed with the more recent movies from Pierce Brosnan, they were utter crap and I don't even think I saw the one and the others I can't even remember if I watched the whole thing and even if I did I wasn't paying attention thats how bad they were LOL! But, lets stop beating around the bush. Daniel Craig did an awesome job! He wasn't as good as Connery for obvious reasons but it was still a very impressive movie. It wasn't too overdone with effects, explosions, etc etc. I know in every James Bond movie theres always that "corniness" at certain scenes and I think that is more of a trademark thing in these movies, you just gotta have it. Ofcourse you gotta have the hot chick, and she definitely was SMOKIN, too bad they killed her off in a hammock ;'( but dammmn she was really hot :-) I enjoyed it and I think it made up for all the terrible ones that have been made more recently. If they do make more, which they probably will, then I would hope for Daniel Craig to return for the next installment.
I heard a review, by the Movie Mom, who I love. She said what made this Bond movie so good, and more like the Connery genre, was that they went back to the beginning. I haven't seen the movie, yet. Gotta wait for the dvd, since I can't sit in a theatre until after my surgery, and healing up. Anyway... she said that this new movie is Bond, before he becomes Bond... James Bond. This is the beginning of our 007. So, I'm really looking forward to the movie.
Cho, thanks for the review. Makes me want to see it even more now.
