Hilary Duff has the right accessories to be a Hollywood starlet: a trendy handbag, a tiny dog and a rocker pal – in this case, her good friend, Good Charlotte frontman Joel Madden, who made a coffee run with her in Los Angeles recently.
SQUEAKY-clean teen superstar Hilary Duff seems to be taking cues from her club-hopping arch-nemesis, Lindsay Lohan. While canoodling with Good Charlotte singer Joel Madden at Sway, 17-year-old Duff's table was cluttered with vodka and Red Bull cocktails, the preferred libation of the bleary-eyed Young Hollywood set.
Duff, who made her unlikely appearance at designer Benjamin Cho's weekly Smiths and Morrissey fest, has been setting hipster hearts aflutter lately by hitting the Bloc Party concert at the Roxy, the "Misshapes" bash at Luke & Leroy and the late-night scene at Lit.
Hilary Duff And Joel Madden Steam Up Hollywood's Club Xes
Star magazine reports that Hilary Duff and sister Haylie Duff were doing some canoodling with their boyfriends at Hollywood's Club Xes for Haylie's 20th birthday bash. Underaged Hilary was "holding hands, snuggling and kissing up a storm all night long" with her 25-year-old Good Charlote beau Joel Madden, while Halie and her guy Erik von Detten were spotted "kissing in the corner."
Teen idol Hilary Duff has vowed to keep her romance with Good Charlotte rocker Joel Madden as private as possible -- only a month after admitting they are a couple.
Duff, 17, and Madden, 26, began dating in July 2004 when the "Lizzie McGuire" star was only 16, and after nearly of year of keeping quiet about their love, they finally admitted they are in a relationship last month.
The hitmaker gushes to MTV, "I'm really happy right now. I think and hope he is as well.
"I feel really lucky to have him, but we try not to talk about it too much. We both think it's so weird that people put their relationship out there.
"It's not even about the work anymore. It's not about music or acting or whatever. It's about the relationship. It's not really what I got into this business for, and I know it's not what he got into it for, so why? We both have this same mentality that the more you let people know about it, the more they want to know about it."
Singer Hilary Duff has branded stars such as Britney Spears and Jessica Simpson crazy for marrying so young.
The 18-year-old star believes marriage should be sacred and private, rather than a desperate bid for media exposure.
But Duff, who is currently dating Good Charlotte rocker Joel Madden, admits to enjoying reality shows such as "Newlyweds" (starring Simpson and husband Nick Lachey) and Spear's venture with Kevin Federline, "Chaotic."
She says, "There's this trend in Hollywood for people to get married so young. I really don't know what it's about, whether it's wanting a ring on your finger or just getting in the press. I'm definitely not planning on anything like that anytime soon. And if I did, I would not make a huge thing about it.
"Joel is here in the U.K. with me and we bought video cameras so we were joking around, acting like we were on 'Newlyweds.' I can't say I don't like shows like that because I find them so entertaining. I like them, they are so stupid they are funny."
