Possibly, but he couldn't have been keeping it for Voldemort, as I believe he was just as surprised by his return as the other death-eaters were. There isn't really any other motive, as Voldemort himself had never lived there, so there'd be no artefacts like the diary to find there.
Who says I can't multi-task? I walked and breathed at the same time at least once today.
I'm not sure if SURPRISED is the word that I would describe Lucius by the return of Voldemort. I have a feeling that Lucius KNEW that Voldemort would be back. And I'm sure that he, like all the death eaters, feared that Voldemort could find fault in what his "servants", as I call the death eaters, in what they have been doing all these years.

The thing with evil characters like Voldemort is that they find fault in all the, as you put it, servants. The only ones he didn't fin fault in were those that had died, those in Azkaban and Barty Crouch.

The Riddle house would not be a place to collect things about Voldemort. He never lived there. His father abandoned his mother upon learning that she was a witch. The manor was a plain muggle home.
