R. Kelly's George Street party house on auction block

WHAT'S FOR SALE: A Lake View mansion -- formerly owned by singer R. Kelly.
SIZE: 10,000 square feet, (4 bedrooms, 5 baths).
LOCATION: 1010 W. George St.
LISTING PRICE: The home will be sold via a sealed-bid auction. The most recent listing price was $2,995,000. Inspections are by appointment only. Final bids must be received by July 20.
AMENITIES: Forty-foot lap pool, indoor basketball court, digital theater (with 7-foot-by-10-foot screen and THX surround sound), 1,600-gallon fish tank, two hot tubs, 1,500-square-foot rooftop deck. The home used to be a church.
THE PARTICULARS: R. Kelly sold the home in 2002 to the current owner.
"Many of the rooms remain as decorated by R. Kelly," said Steven L. Good, chairman of Sheldon Good & Co., the auctioneer.
A bar area is adorned with murals from the movie "Space Jam." A hot-tub room is paneled with split-pine logs.
The living room has multiple tiers for entertaining and dancing.
"We specialize in one-of-a-kind real estate auctions, and R. Kelly's former mansion is certainly in that category," Good said. "The George Street party home is decorated to the hilt."
