Try something simpler like "Uncle Arthur".

Any idiot could sing it and sound alright.

Not that you're an... you know what? Never mind.

I like the 24 hours from Tulsa song (though its not from the 80s ). My mum played a lot of Gene Pitney when I was young.

The song makes me laugh, because I always thought of it as a happy song........ but the dude who's singing is obviously a bit of an ass. I mean, he's almost home to the one he loves, and decides to treat himself to some cheap skank he meets at a cheaper motel.

Obviously men have matured a lot since those days

......Oh wait......

PS. Livin' On A Prayer is a good 80's song too.

Whidden said this in post #27 :

Hey, I messed up. There is a Rod Stewart song, foever young,

but I was watching Napolean Dynomite today, and they played a song that was awesome and the lyrics were Forever Young.

So, that must be the one you was speaking of.

Hmmm, I haven't seen that movie, but if it is the same song, then it is awesome! I have to say, it is still one of my favourite songs.

I remember the Rod Stewart song, too.

Other songs that still get me revved up are:

Land down under.

Safety Dance.

I also liked a lot of Cyndi Lauper's songs in the '80's.

Oh, and REM. I loved "It's the End Of The World As We Know It."

Napolean Dynomite has a bunch of 80's stuff in it. I found it funny as all get out.

But all the wives of people I know who watched the movie, hate it.

So be warned, it just really really stupid humor. It's not dirty at all, pretty clean.

But it's got no plot, and just has stupid people acting stupid. The mexican guy was the funniest.

The prom they went to played all 80's music, i dont know why, it's a modern day movie.

Because it is Idaho! They are supposed to be "behind" the times, so that is why they had 80's music.

Wild Boys ~ Duran Duran (1984)

The wild boys are calling on their way back from the fire
in august moon's surrender to a dust cloud on the rise
wild boys fallen far from glory
reckless and so hungered on the razors edge you trail
because there's murder by the roadside in a sore afraid new world

they tried to break us, looks like they'll try again

wild boys never lose it
wild boys never chose this way
wild boys never close your eyes
wild boys always shine

you got sirens for a welcome there's bloodstain for your pain
and your telephone been ringing while you're dancing in the rain
wild boys wonder where is glory
where is all you angels now the figureheads have fell
and lovers war with arrows over secrets they could tell

they tried to tame you looks like they'll try again

wild boys never lose it
wild boys never chose this way
wild boys never close your eyes
wild boys always shine

That is a war crime!

I kept adjusting my speakers thinking something was a little off.
