Exactly Heather. It is thier destiny to kill or be killed. The shared power of the curse that failed is bound into this also. Harry can not be completely free of the "bond" with Voldie poo unless Voldemort dies.
hmmm i dont know, its a good point, but the books say that the powers were transfered to him, i dont really think that they could be untransfered, it would just be odd.
Also I think that line has more to do with it than just a foretelling that one will die, I mean look at harrys life, can we really call that living? He's been stuck up in a house and ignored and hated his whole life, then when he goes to hogwarts instead of just being a normal kid he has to deal with all sorts of stressful stuff. And voldemort, well he spent most of his life living in small rats and stuff in a forest, not until recently did he even have a body, and his life has been cursed and terrible as well. I think that its not only a foretelling of the future but a statement about what is going on now and has been going on for the past oh what 15 nearly 16 years?
Won't you go away
and leave me till the time of dying days
stand here by my side
and watch the river flood and pass us by

Great question Heather. Since the last word of the last chapter is rumored to be scar, I think Harry will loose his scar and the powers that came with it.

Or it could be that all he has left from Voldemort is his scar.
