Be warned, what you are about to hear is not pretty.
In December of 1937, the Japanese army entered NanKing (The then capital of China) and within weeks had killed more than 300, 000 Chinese citizens. More than 20, 000 women were raped, after which many were either beheaded or gutted and bodies left in heaps scattered throughout the city.
Many have argued the facts and figures of the deaths, questioned the actual events, and Japan have often tried to downplay the massacre themselves, as well as questioned the attrocities that people have alledged were commited. People who survived the massacre declaire the events to be true, though - like the holocaust - many question whether or not it ever occured.
Warning: The following website displays photos of war attrocities performed by the Japanese during the Nanking massacre. Please do not view if you think you may be offended. Some are extremely graphic! Please heed this warning!

Discuss your thoughts of feels to what has been called "The Forgotten Holcaust." Any resources you would like to share with us? Recommendations of books to read (my recommendation is the popular "Raping of Nanking")?
