Do you just pull these numbers out of the air or does reality ever come into play?

Mate I could find you dozens of stats from the web sites of the Red Cross, Amnesty, etc - but would you believe them? Anything critical of the US military or government - ie pictures of dead children - is covered up and deemed un-American.

Again - you want me to dig you up some stats on how many innocent people - not including the poor fools in teh army armed against their will with hopeless weapons and no training who sat in pathetic bunkers while death rained on them from 30,000 feet - hm?

Hell - and this was in October of last year:

October 29, 2003

Iraqi war deaths 'total 13,000'

BBC: About 13,000 Iraqis, including as many as 4,300 civilians, were killed during the major combat phase of the Iraq war, according to a US research group.

It said the estimates were based on US combat data, battlefield press reports, and Iraqi hospital surveys.

Yeah, it makes you wonder how so many peopel died when we dropped leaflets to the peole, telling them what we were going to do. Too bad Al-Queda doesn't do that.

So...........Bush lied about WMD's in Iraq?? http://www.pbs.org/newshour/bb/middle_east/july-dec98/clinton_12-16.html

Maybe some people prefer the Russian "Destroy everything" tactics applied in Chechnya. Why nobody knows how many civilians died in Chechnya?
Or, others may prefer the French "Run away" tactics applied in Rwanda (operation Turqoise), where millions of africans died after french troops saved the saveable and fled to France.

How many didn't die because of Saddam NOT being in power? The Iraqis are finding out Freedom isn't free and they are willing to stay the course for this freedom Don't kid yourself, this is what they want.
I think your numbers are exagerated by thousands too.

They're not my stats USA1 - they're from all manner of different agencies - the Administration would have some numbers but they wouldn't tell you cos it might hurt Dubya's re-election.

Nice of you to drop those leaflets. But where were people meant to go? Out into the desert? With family friends in Falluja? Maybe they could come over your place in Disneyland.

Freedom isn't free? Tell that to all the people who's children are dead from US bombs. ask them if invading their country and bombing **** out of it to get rid of Saddam and his non-existant weapons if that was a good idea, was worth it, was worth their children's lives. Saddam needed to go - but not like this. Not with all this ongoing, never-ending hate and war and shite ... there had to be another way, in the human world of 2004, with all our advances in so many other things, we can't find a way to free a people, a country, without killing tens of thousands of innocents? I mean ... 9/11 was incomprehsibly bad. But is it worse, are the lives of all those dead children worth less?

Why not try him for war crimes? Or at least attempt it? Worked with that Milosevic...

better than killing all those people, those completely innocent families, etc, and breeding all that hatred for the US ... if the US/UN could somehow have managed to overthrow Saddam peacefully ... and I admit it's not an easy thing to do ... and I don't have an answer, apart from my war crimes effort that seemed to work with Milosevic ... anyway... if the US/UN could have somehow worked out how to overthrow Saddam, peacefully, it could have been a beacon for the rest of the world on conflict resolution in the new millenium.

But nope - went in with all the guns and killed all the people under the GUISE of fighting against terrorism (perpetrated by Al Queda) and WMDs (that don't exist) and a link between the two (that also doesn't exist) - thereby creating more terrorism and hatred for the West and the US in particular and killing lots of people needlessly.

Like i said - I don't pretend to have an answer - but matey, they wanted to invade Iraq on Sep 12. And they used 9/11 and all those poor folks god rest their souls as an excuse and the world is not a safer place for it.

Hands up who knows how many mass killings are going on right at this very minute in several nations on the continent of Africa?

Very few hands going up.

I wonder why?

Well, Sudan had terrorist training camps at one stage ... it's a hotbed of anti-US Islamic sentiment ... several people there wear turbans. Problem for the 100,000 famililes destroyed by the ethnic cleansing is there's no oil under Sudan. nothin but dust and dead blacks, which aren't really worth anyone, the UN, the US, Russia, Egypt, Cambodia, New Zealand, anyone, giving a **** about because really, what's in it for them? Someone from World Vision or whoever willl go over and feed those poor starvin' babies if we all feel guilty enough, but certainly the US won't invade and liberate the people there cos ... well, I'd be interested to hear a few theories.

But that is only one instance of current ethnic cleansing going on in one country in Africa. Keep going, someone will tell you when to stop ...
