The Ring 2 post #1  quote:

Spacek to appear in 'Ring 2'
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Nearly 30 years after starring in Carrie, Sissy Spacek is set to return to the horror film genre in The Ring 2, The Hollywood Reporter said Monday.

Starring Naomi Watts and Simon Baker, the sequel to the 2002 hit is expected to start shooting in mid-May, the trade paper said.

Since the script and plot are so closely guarded, it is unclear who Spacek will play in the continuing tale of a videotape that mysteriously kills those who view it.

Sources close to the film told The Hollywood Reporter the filmmakers want to keep a level of mystery around Spacek's role.

Erm... so are they copying the Japanese sequel this time, or just making it up?

Interesting news anyways

It's just called The Ring 2 ... or Ringu 2.

There's also a prequel, called Basudei. Kind of sucked though.

They are making up their on this time, don't worry.

And they said that the movie had a little more to do with other things than just a tape and a ringing phone.

Pretty freaky. Doesn't give enough about the plot in the trailer, though. Hopefully it's only a teaser, and not the official.

That looks amazing, and from the trailer, it also looks to be more promising than the first one.
Though the first was very good, it didn't have the edginess that the Japanese version did.. And hopefully now they have brought in a bit more of the 'jump factor' and suspense that was lacking some what.

I'm looking forward to seeing the sequel soon. We went to the cinema today, but saw Constantine instead. The Ring 2 is next on our list though....
