Oh my...I do hope this is the result of some crafty work with Photo Shop. This cat looks just like my Colby; same tail, same colors, everything. Last time Colby was weighed, he was just over 15 pounds. I do believe he has grown since. He's really not overweight, he's just a really big cat. I wonder, is this pic real?

Nope...not me, but the cat here looks like a larger version of my Colby.

Ya, he does kinda look like Garfield.
Now I'm going to have to hold my Colby, just as the woman in this picture is doing; and then have my husband take a picture so I can post it here, for comparison.

I agree I think that HAS to be Photoshopped. Can a cat actually get that big? Do we have a Vet on INR we can ask? That's crazy.

I'm going with real.

That is ridiculously big for a cat, but hey, stranger things have happened.

Or maybe that girl is just really small.

I think its real. The cat in the picture is a Main Coon. They get up to 15-17 pounds on average. So, it's possible that this is just a really big Main Coon. The girl in the pic may be very petite, also.

I brought it into Photosuite (I don't have Photshop) and I'd say it's real. I don't see any evidence of manipulation. Also, the cat's fur overlaps the girl's arms and hands, something that would be really hard to fake without it being obvious when you zoom in.

Meh, if you have the right textures, brushes, and a wacom, it wouldn't be all that hard.

OK...I sent this pic to my husband. He's a multimedia student, a semester and a half away from his degree. He has Photoshop and a bunch of other programs on his computer. He does more with animation than photos but, he examined this pic for like, 20-30 minutes.

He's a little skeptical but, thinks it is real. There were two areas that looked questionable to him. However, there were several other areas that he said would have really required a lot of work to fake. If he had to cast a vote, he'd say it's real.

...also, if you saw our cat, you'd know why we don't think that this is a stretch of the imagination.

I've seen this before. In fact, my avatar came from something similar that was emailed to me. I know that this picture could be a fake. I just don't think it is. That breed of cat can get very big...AND, if the girl is petite, well...I just think that its very possibly a real picture. My Colby, is already over 15 pounds and he is only two years old. Both Main Coons and Norwegian Forest Cats are slow growers. They reach their full size at about five years. I know that this could be a fake but, considering the breed, it could very well be real, too.

post #22  quote:

Right before my husband went to bed, he asked me how long the cat's wiskers were. His thought was, if the pic was a fake, the "artist" may not have known that the wiskers should be as long as the cat's body is wide. So I went back to take a look. The wiskers extend well past the face and are definitly long enough for a cat this size. So, it's either real, or the person knew to make the wiskers longer.
