What are some of the more sought after degrees and positions right now?

Comp Sci degree? Engineering? Security?

How does anyone know what fields are being looked at?

Maybe it's just me, I'm clueless. Fill me in.

Well according to figures for Australian University intake this year: Law and Nursing/ Medicine were the most popular (hardest to get into?). But both are LONG years of study so they will be career people in like 7-8 years.
