What is your favorite Star Trek episode ever, from any series?
Mine would be Best of Both Worlds from TNG. It was a great cliffhanger and the Borg were the ultimate enemy, ruthless, non-negotiating, mysterous, immense, powerful. Unlike just about all cliffhangers, you didn't really know what was going to happen.
Although, I will admit I missed the last couple seasons of DS9, and from what I hear, there were some good stories that I missed.
BoBW was by far the best TNG episode(s). Epitome of a season cliffhanger.
The last few seasons of DS9 were the best of the series. I would go as far to say that it is right up there with the best of TNG. Season 6 and 7 alone eclipse the whole run of Voyager.
My favorite episiode of all time, is a slam dunk for me, from the original series, "Balance of Terror", guest starring Mark Lenard as the Romulan Commander...he later played Spock's father Sarek-That episode would make an awesome movie. The Enterprise goes head to head with a Romulan ship that just destroyed Federation Star Bases in the Nuetral Zone, it's very much like a great submarine drama.

but it was a DS9 one where jake went as a field reporter and witnessed the battle firsthand and totally flipped out and just couldn't handle it.
the writing and acting were both absolutely fantastic.
other than that the voyager episode where the doctor had the holographic family. and also from voyager the two parter one where the crew was held hostage in their holodecks and it was all set in WWII times.
Well hang on tight, man you better get ready. We're gonna rock with Gene and Eddie!

Was "Amok Time" the one where Kirk had to fight Spock to the death?
You see, the writers back then had awesome story lines. They didn't have to stage huge wars with advanced aliens to have a story.

that BoBW episode was so great. we hear riker issue the "fire" command knowing it would mean the death of picard and then BLACK and "to be continued..." that was the longest 4 months.
I liked the episode where the Enterprise blows up in the first 20 seconds, and then blows up again and again and again and again.... That made me smile, because I felt satisfied that at least at some point in reality, the Enterprise showed it's true humanity and failed at something repeatedly...
TNG is and will always be my favorite Star Trek series. Picard; Oh Captain, my Captain....

whidden said this in post #5 : There was an episode of DS9 where Rikers transporter double, Will , joined the Marquis and did some damage to the Cardassians. That was a good one.
Hey, isn't Riker's double's name Thomas?
