JK revising all the books post #1  quote:

This chick is smart. I read a AP story stating that JK Rowling will revise all the Harry Potter books after she finishes the 7th one, providing a bunch of backstory.

Brilliant way to make another hundred million. Crazy.

Well, that will work for me.... I will buy whatever that woman writes.
Her stories are absolutely brilliant... and I have enjoyed every one.

See? It's clever marketing.

One could say though that she's milking the boy wizard series for all it's worth. Does that take away from her artistic integrity? Selling out her creation and all.

Great post HECK. Nice to see you in this part of the InReview Town. I say let her revise them. The first two books were lacking some detail. We all want more, so why not give us what we want.

I don't think so, Heck. I think that the popularity of the books have allowed her to go in a completely new direction with Harry Potter. She knows that there is so much more that can be added... people want that info.

I see your points, but whatever happened to leaving people wanting more?

I know the fans want all they can get and then some, but sometimes it's best to leave the details up to the imagination.

For example, I really didn't need the Star Wars prequels. The franchise would have been fine just having idle speculation from the fans. It's nice to have the backstory, but I kind of liked my own ideas better.

And when JK starts to re-write history or skew pre-determined ideas the hardcore fans already have, what then. Honestly, it might cheese some of you if the roots of the HP series are disagreeable. And the more specific JK gets, the number of people who don't like it will increase. Vagueness often equals happiness because, once again, the details are left to the imagination. That's just my $.02.
