Nevilles Memory post #1  quote:

We all know that Neville has memory problems. He even lost his remembrall. So why IS Neville so forgetful? Is there the possibility that wizards/healers are giving him a "memory charm" to keep him from recovering a secret? Perhaps a secret his parents knew, or the memory of an event? Please share your thoughts on Neville's memory.

Think about it. Nevilles parents had their minds destroyed. They were not killed. How do we know that Neville did not see something he should not have?

Just because he couldn't remember it from being so young, that does not mean that there aren't ways to 'pull' memories out.

I think that there has to be SOMETHING about his memory being so horribly bad.

Maybe something involving the death of his grandfather. Hagrid said that he knew Neville could see the thestrals.

It's not impossible for someone to remember something from that early in his or her life- especially if it's traumatic. I know my earliest memory is from when I was 18 months old, and it wasn't traumatic unless you count spitting your pacifier into the ocean to see what would happen, then not being able to grab it before it floats out to sea, then having to settle for one of those little ones for the ride back home.

I wish I had early memories. I just wonder why Neville is so forgetful. There just might be something to it. J.K. does not put things in for no reason.

Neville and Harry are the exact same age. Harry is able to remember green light and his mother's voice before she died, so chances are, Neville can remember things about his parents too. I definitely think his mind is being played with.
