Yes, it is coming, after 15 seasons on TV, they are making a Simpson's movie.
Twentieth Century Fox, Matt Groening and James Brooks are in talks with a team of script writers to make a full length feature film of the Simpsons. They have at least seven past and present writers working on it.
The studio is said to "very excited about the possibility of making a Simpsons movie".
I did read that all actors of the simpsons are signed to do atleast 3 simpsons movies, even after the show's finished they're contractually obligated to do these movies... that's too good, to know that even 10 years after the simpsons finishes, they may still give us a movie hehehe

.. A Simpsons movie is getting even closer. After promising a theatrical feature version of The Simpsons for years, creator Matt Groening has told British newspaper The Guardian that plans for the movie are at last approaching fruition.
"We're trying to tell a story that we wouldn't do on television and take advantage of a longer process and a more ambitious process for animation" he said. But there's acatch. "It will either kill the TV show completly of reinvigorate it" Groening said.
Entertainment Weekly talked to “The Simpsons” executive producer Al Jean who not only revealed secrets about upcoming episodes in the 16th season of the hit animated comedy but also an update on the possible movie.
According to Jean, the show’s writers are working on the long-promised feature film, with a targeted 2008 release date. They’ve even laid down some possible plotlines but won’t spoil anything this early.
“There are a couple things on the show that I steered away from what might be in the movie,” Jean says. “The biggest thing is you don’t want to do a movie that’s not reflective of the quality of the show, and you don’t want the quality of the show to slip because you’re doing the movie. So we’re taking a little time.”
"Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, diet coke in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO HOO what a ride!"

According to reports, the show's writers are in the initial stages of a feature film, fuelled by speculation the domain www.simpsonsmovie.com has already been reserved by Fox.
Man, there was ComicCon movie footage on You Tube. I saw it like an hour ago, then it hit me to post it here. I went back at it was taken down per FOX. Oh well. Looked funny.
