Taxes! post #1  quote:

Which one are you?

Do you wait until the last minute in filing your tax return?

Or do you file it as soon as all your forms come in?

My husband waits until at least March. It depends on how many companies he has worked for and when they come in.

If you don't earn any money, you don't pay any taxes. If you do, eg have a job or whatever, you must lodge a return.

Okay, that seems normal. So does that mean that you never had a job ever before?

Yes, I had a job, however I was only 14. I only paid 22c tax in the whole financial year, so I didn't qualify.

I only worked about 15 hours a week. And because my income was below the minimum threshhold, they really don't expect you to pay taxes.

I got my W-2 in the mail last night, did the federal via telephone, and finished up my state.
I'm getting back A LOT!!! I've always owed... but, we switched stuff around last year and it made a huge difference!!!! I love it...

Anyway... I always try to file as soon as I get my W-2, but when I owe money, I wait till the last minute to send it off.

We usually file in Feb or March...depending on when the accountant gets them done.....and that depends on when my husband stops procrastinating and actually gets it to the accountant...

I feel really decadent in that I didnt work at all last year....(monetarily speaking).....but hopefully Im doing it for more money in the long run.

Time will tell I guess.
