Ron,
You're probably right. Trump and his folks sat there and said the decision was pretty easy!

Loner Sam post #47  quote:

Said it before, I'll say it again ... Sam is hyper, not a man's man, and operates best as loner.

Trump gave Sam a critical clue when he asked him if he thought the team had elected him leader as an effort to oust him.

Sam didn't take that into consideration at all. Instead he put himself up as the target -- set himself up for the fall by taking total control and thus was totally to blame. I know he was trying to prove himself ... and to me he seems needy and wanting to be "liked", but a simple thing like a team meeting with assignments going to those who expressed expertise and confidence in negotiating ... such as Bill go for cigars, Kwame for the gold, etc. ... would have spread the blame around in a loss, and could possibly have created a win.

Football ? Where'd his assistant coaches go ?
In the end ... we ALL know that when the team loses it's the Head Coach who gets fired ? Right ? Ask Dick Jauron.

Despite his poor judgement exacerbated by anxiety ... I still think we'll see more of Sam someday.

Sam is out. He never had a chance as a "Coach". I am glad he was fired. I only wish that he would have gone apeshits when he was given the boot. I was clinched and ready for a Jerry McGuire type exit... was anyone else?

I enjoyed watching the rerun tonight just so I could see the look on Sam's face once more when he was fired
I'm gonna miss Sam--he was pure entertainment!

Clueless Clone ... I'm going to miss Sam's entertaining antics too. He was SUCH a nervous wreck in that environment ! He is engaged now ... or else they'd probably put him on the Bachelor or something

Sam wasn't really sleeping ... he was cocooning and showing his boredom and disatisfaction with Jason the Project Manager.

I think Trump was cruel to say to Sam "I didn't realize you were so short". Now that is Maybe Trump was testing Sam's ability to roll with the punches ... but because Trump shook his hand, Sam was too starstruck to notice the remark. I hope Sam washed his hands soon after.

I guess you haven't seen Sam making the rounds of the talk shows. He is no hunky guy, of course ... but he is very different than on the show ... relaxed and composed, pleasant ... and funny too, with the ability to laugh at himself. He told Jay Leno that he met his fiance on a blind date ... and that a blind date was the only way he ( Sam ) could even GET a date

I think we'll be seeing Sam again somewhere.

Ron Ackerman alerted us as follows:

NEWS ALERT! -
I am a Grandpa Again. Welcome grand daughter Madison.

Yay, Gramps ! Congratulations ! I LOVE the name Madison. Hope baby and family are well and warm !!!

Wait a minute...did you say Grandpa AGAIN ? Why you don't look old enough to be a Grandpa ... but then I don't know what you look like

Get thee over to the picture thread stickied in General Discussion and post some pics of those babies, Gramps

BTW ... not ignoring the pm ... will respond soon.

And of course ...

GO CAROLINA PANTHERS!!!

[on topic]
Now where were we about Sam ? Oh yeah, Trump says Sam is smart and the girls were selected based on their brains ... uh-huh

Trump said that to Conan O'Brien too ... and that their IQ's were all near 200.
Are we sure he didn't say their Eye Candy Quotient is way up there ?

I agree, Oldbutafan! Sam acts completely different on the talk shows. I've caught most of them, including his appearance with Katie Couric where he proposed and I was amazed at how personable he was. Katie called him an "Eddie Haskall" type (true) and he laughed. But he actually reminds me of a character on the old sitcom "Wings"--the guy who played the irritating old guy's nephew (what was that character's name, Geoffery???).

I think Sam's going places, and the one thing I'd love to do is frame and hang that "Look" or even have it as a screensaver.

These smilies also remind me of Sam:

Oh, yeah, and we all believe that , right?

I'm positive Trump only looked at their IQ's....

Sam was great about Trump's comment about being short. Me, I might have replied, "And you sure need a new barber--that low side-part combover thing is pretty amazing." And that's why I couldn't get on the show despite being absolutely gorgeous.....

It was pretty romantic. Katie had been talking with Sam when she mentioned that his girlfriend was in the audience and asked her to come onstage. Then Katie just chatted with her for a couple minutes, as she normally would. Suddenly, music started playing and the lights dimmed and Sam swung down onto one knee, took a ring box out of his pocket and popped it open and proposed.

His girlfriend was completely shocked. I loved it! And I was in shock too, because on the show Sam was so irritating!!!

PS...it was a nice size rock too!

Millions tuned in to Donald's show, The Apprentice, to hear him say the dreaded words, "You're fired!"

Sam Solovey was one of the lucky 16 chosen out of more than 200,000 applicants vying for a chance at becoming Donald's apprentice. But Sam got the axe after only three episodes for being a "maniac" and a "disaster."

"I was devastated! I took it very seriously," says Sam. But he tells Donald "I probably would be a disaster as your apprentice, but I think we do have a future as business partners. I'd sell widgets on the side of the road with [you] because I like to be surrounded by mentors, and that's really what it was all about."

"He's got great potential," Donald says.
