well INRs been around for one whole year now. Congrats! thanks to all those who keep these forums up and running. Happy Birthday, and may we see many more.
We have a Happy Birthday thread going on in the Forum News and Announcements. Maybe the admins can merge the two. We would like Marc and Sean to give us the history of the site and let us know some interesting information about it.
I would love to hear about how this site got started. I love it! It's a great place for people to discuss the things that are most important to them. Happy Birthday, may you have many more.
Happy Birthday, INReview ... and special thanks to the creators for their tireless work. It shows ... and you are responsible for building a welcoming and comfortable home for so many.
Thanks too, to the mod staff who devote so much of their personal time to the interests of the members here.
Like the others who have asked, I too would like to know some background.
So far this ( paraphrased) is what's been asked by others, with a few additions from me :
1) General history, start-up and background info about INReview.
2) How did you came up with the idea to start INR ?
3) What were your initial expectations ?
4) Did you meet or exceed your expectations?
5) How did it evolve from Magazine to gathering place ?
6) How did you let people know about the site ?
7) How long did it take for people to find the site and start using it regularly?
8) Membership keeps growing ! How do you continue to make people aware of INR ?
9) Who are the "Charter" Members of INReview ... say the first 50-100 or so who joined and stayed ?
10) Love this one ... How many of us do you regret letting in the front door. Names, please.

Maybe they won't answer directly here as it is obvious that they are very busy ... but maybe someday they'll put up an extra-extra page, and then we can read all about it !

All good ideas - and I'll see what I can do to throw together some more stuff to go on the ABOUT page. I know it's rather sparse as it is. I can't guarantee a completion date however.
Wow, you have answered a lot of questions. Thanks for putting that together and creating such a great site. I never really appreciated how much work it took to make such a massive site. I was surprised to discover that this was just a hobby and you two still had another business to run plus trying to have a life. Thanks for a giving us a great site Marc and Sean
Marc Flemming said this in post #18 : Okay - Sean and I took some time to piece together some answers to those questions. You can find them in the new & improved About section.
Thank you, Marc and Sean !
I am always astounded at the quality and promptness of your response to member requests, needs, suggestions, etc.
This started as a Happy Birthday thread so let me just say I'm glad INReview was born
p.s. Also noticed the nice new Gold Member Info page that now contains comprehensive information!
Can a moderator please tell me the most of reward points they have seen someone with, because I would like to set a goal for myself and try to achieve it. Thanks.
If Marc wants to release that info, than fine. But, I'm personally not in agreeance with people trying to 'compete.' This wasn't set up for that reason. You will receive reward points where applicable. Just post your best, and go from there.
Don't look at points... just look at the quality of what you're posting.
Doing off topic, screwing around, silly posts, etc... won't get reward points.
Serious topics, deep conversations, etc... that's what we're looking for.
We're looking for those exceptional conversations... for debate champions, for people who can resolve a bad conflict. Yes, we do give points for shameless wit and humor as well... but, it's really gotta stick out.
