becker said this in post #15 : I do not believe in marriage. If two people feel strongly enough about each other that should be enough. I do not think having children is the answer either. Marriage is a binding commitment that forces people to go to court to break up. Children are a reason people who no longer are in love stay married or together. We live in a free country, so relationships should be a matter of choice-not contractual obligation.
I agree with you. I think so much of our lives is somewhat predetermined by rituals of society... When someone chooses to stray off their little course, people think they're nuts. I have done almost everything by taken the path less traveled. I wouldn't NOT get married on the basis that I'm trying to break the mold or anything, but rather rely on my feelings for that person to keep me with them. I wouldn't want the perso nI love to be with me because she's legally obligated to. I'd rather be broken hearted and single than living a lie.
Please pardon my pseudo-intellectuaphilisophicalismysiticality.
After these last two days, the next person that says anything to me about having kids, I'm going to gouge their eyes out with the first thing that I can get my hands on
After my sister-in-law had her kid, she made the comment to me, "Now, if we can just get you to reproduce..." I think I'll leave the process of reproduction to the rest of the world.
It's black. It's shiny. I'm keeping it!

Professor Plum - "What are you afraid of? A fate worse than death?"
Mrs. Peacock - "No, just death. Isn't that enough?"

Yes, people just can't seem to help themselves. I guess they want to share all the wonders of motherhood.
I don't see where they would be all that "wonderous". Her kid's been here for three days now because she "wanted to stay with grandma". I'm ready for her to go home before I kill someone

Will you please kill the lizard I keep waking up with in my bed?
Ann Landers had a great reply for people who asked questions that were none of their business: "If you'll forgive me for not answering that question, I'll forgive you for asking it."
