I'm just interested to know what normally happens to casts of Star Trek series after the series has ended. It seems to me, not many of them have gone on to achieve greater things beyond the realm of Star Trek movies or its franchise. The only exception I can think of is Patrick Stewart who has played major roles in big movies such as the X-Men films. Obviously William Shatner carved a nice niche for himself on telly with roles such as TJ Hooker, and Leonard Nimoy has directed a few minor films such as Three Men and a Baby. Avery Brookes seemed to have cropped up here and there in minor roles in film and television (American History X is an example, which strangely also had Jennifer Lien, aka Kes from Voyager, playing a small role). Michelle Forbes (the short-lived role of Ro Laren in TNG) recently had a minor role in 24. Brent Spiner had a small but memorable role in Independence Day as the weird scientist who was choked to death by the aliens.
Others like Kate Mulgrew, Nana Visitor (aka Major Kira Nerys), Jonathan Frakes, Robert Beltran and so on seemed to have disappeared into oblivion, although Frakes is still directing Star Trek movies and episodes on telly.
Anyone else have any comments or anything to add?

Majel Roddenberry did real well. Of course it didn't hurt being married to the creator of the show, but she did have some talent.
She was the first officer in the Star Trek pilot.
She played Nurse Chappel on the Star Trek series.
She has been the voice of the computer in all the Star Trek series, including the first Star Trek series, The Next Generation, Deep Space Nine, and Voyager.
She made numerous guest appearances on the Next Generation as Troi's mother.
She was a producer of the show, Earth Final Conflict, which was written by her late husband, Gene.
Yes, I remember Mrs. Roddenberry, Majel Barrett. Her voice as the computer was very distinctive. Read an article about her in a magazine recently. Unfortunately, that article also said that some of the Trekkie cast members are now doing the circuits at Trekkie conventions!

This kind of reminds me of the movie Galaxy Quest, you know the one with Tim Allen, Sigourney Weaver, Alan Rickman et al?
It's about a bunch of has-been TV sci-fi series stars (a-la Star Trek) who have nothing better to do than to attend geeky sci-fi conventions after their show had been cancelled.

i love galaxy quest. i love how tech sgt. chen is eating what looks like a handi-snack (little packet of crackers with cheese, with the red, plastic "cheese spreader") while their in the shuttle on the way to get the beryllium sphere. and then when they land crewmember "guy" has a cow when they open the shuttle door: "is there air!? you don't know!" very funny movie.
