Okay, let me set the scene:
My Rams were in garbage time against the Bungles so I was walking into the back room of my local bar. There are five t.v.'s or so, and in the corner I see the Saints game. A buddy of mine was downing another beer in anguish as his Browns got ass-handed. For some reason, we both look at the Saints final play and got to check one of the wackiest plays I have ever seen.
From the Saints website: "In one of the most amazing final plays from scrimmage in NFL history, the Saints got a miracle 75-yard, three-lateral touchdown that started from QB Aaron Brooks and ended eventually in the hands of WR Jerome Pathon as the clock ran out to cut the Jacksonville lead to 20-19. "
Insane. I called over everyone to watch the replay and we laughed, waiting for this game to into O.T. The Saints just had to kick the extra point. Easy, right?
"But, the extra-point kick by John Carney sailed wide right as the Jags held on to win. "
Oh my my. What a heartbreaker. Oh well, the Rams rule.
Looks like the NFC West plays the NFC South next season, so get ready Saints fans.
