What is your opinion of Enterprise?
Those reels are worth twice their weight in Gold-pressed Latinum!
They could show it for Movie Night on Enterprise E and get a nice reaction.
It really doesn't live up to the legacy. Just hide it in the LCARS somewhere.
A nice way to keep the Trek spirit alive, but full of plot holes and inconsistency.
Started off as a good idea, but becomes more degraded by the stardate... just like the Neutral Zone.
They call that Star Trek? I oughta shove a hypospray up the writers' arses.

Well said, NothingSacred. I occasionally will turn it on just for the sake of being loyal to Star Trek, but its not something I look forward to all week like TNG or TOS was...

You see, some of the great stories on the original weren't about huge conflicts with alien cultures, sometimes it was more unusual, like when they found Zephram Cochran still alive on that strange planet, or when they found that planet run by women living underground who stole Spock's brain, or when the mining colony was being attacked by those strange animals underground, or when they found the planet where the sociologist turned the people into Nazis...you see what I mean? They had more imagination, they didn't need a story line about a war with sophisticated aliens every week.

Here's my take on it.

The first episode of Star Trek the next Generation was interesting, but it wasn't very sci-fi. A lot of the episodes in the first season were about moral issues. You could potentially learn a lot about life growing up watching it. The few episodes I've seen of Enterprise have been good... Same 'ol star trek style... But the problem is they're way too advanced to be a prequal. Think about it... The ship it's self. And the very first episode was as crazy as the last episode in TNG. They out did themselves right away... I hope they improve a bit upon the writing. I want to see some very trippy episodes.

Hey Zak, they couldn't make the ship look like the Enterprise commanded by Kirk. It would not gather any new fans. But otherwise their technology isn't as advanced as Kirk had. They don't have shields (they have hull plating, which I think is not as strong as shields), they have a transporter which can be used by only one person at a time (which they still don't like to use very much) and they don't have photon torpedos, just some older version. They also have just 6 decks. I think that they have made it sound primitive compared to the later Enterprises, but still made it look watchable for the people who are not familiar with the original series.

It's not just the look. The idea is that this is before Kirk, right? They should not be venturing as far out into the galaxy, while it should still be harder for them to get there and smaller things should be bigger problems...if you get my point?

The very 1st episode they're going to Klingon and already know the Klingons? Why? They could have had a darker, "trippier" way of meeting the Klingon's, maybe on some God-forsaken planet where they where lost or stranded by some odd phenomena? See what I mean? That's more like what was fun about the original.

But I understand that they want viewers who never watched the original...but to me, loyalty to the original is a must, or I won't like it. It's a fine line I guess.
