The tough thing about combining TNG with another series in a film is too many cast members would get next to nothing for screen time. With TNG on it's on, Troi, Crusher, and Worf are nearly transparent.

True enough, but not all actors are willing to commit to a film anyway which is why the likes of Nimoy did not appear in Generations. I'll take what we can get

Alright, this is how the lineup of the next flick should be: Picard, Riker, Troi, Worf, Seven, EMH, Odo, Kira, Bashir, Sisko and Q.

All of the actors would bite. Patrick Stewart would take some coaxing, but he would give his swan song here. The rest don't have much going on.

Riker has his own ship and Troi is on board as we left them from Nemesis (some other misc. crew members on his ship would fill the supporting roles). Picard meets up with Riker on the Enterprise (where Worf is 1st officer) and they all go to investigate some wackiness is occuring near Deep Space Nine. The wormhole is collapsing or whatever and it's threatening the fabric of space and time. They have to pick up Seven (since she's such a smarty pants) and they all go to DS9. It's been forgotten, shambles. Kira runs it, Odo is pissed, Bashir is jaded, etc. All of a sudden, Sisko reappears and leads an attack and steals Riker's ship. The wormhole aliens are involved somehow. Everyone jumps on the Big-E and a cat-&-mouse style ship battle occurs a la Wrath Of Khan. Q shows up to try and thrwart Sisko's plan. But the wormhole aliens made Q's power ineffective. He's there to please the fans and for comic-relief. An easy plot device to bounce one-liners off of any character that may not have much to do. Plus, this would help people get over the absence of Data.

Insert more thought out plot here.

Seven is captured and probably wears something tight and/or skimpy. Odo does his shape-shifting thing in all new ways. We all clap. Worf fights side by side Kira, admiring each others physical prowse. Picard and Riker have a rift, a difference in philosophy that may lead to some kind of mild mutiny (we need conflict, every flick has Picard facing the big bad guy leaving Riker to command the space battle). They make up in the end but realize the Captain/Number 1 relationship is over.

More conflict.

Resolution.

Destory a starship and/or DS9 or kill major character.

The movie makes 75 million domestic, the franchise is saved.

That was weird, but definitely quite original Heck. Why don't you contact Starfleet, I mean, Paramount pictures?
