I knew the cowboy was stupid but... post #1  quote:

Why he didn't choose Cat is beyond me. The show is so contrived and scripted (I am sure they tell the winning girl at some point they will be giving her money)

If you are going to sell out and be a public spectacle on national TV at least go for the gold (Cat is DEFINITELY the gold)

I'm with you, SnoopyII! post #4  quote:

Was it for real, or was it scripted that way? Who knows for sure, but I for one didn't like the fact that they let Linda come back on the show to begin with! She left of her own free will because she couldn't handle the "stress" & she felt the heat from the other girls. You know what they say, "if you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen!" Well, she did just that, and flat out told David, in front of everyone else, that she wanted to go home. That was her choice, not his, so they should have let her go & left it at that. He was doing just fine with Cat & should have picked her. Poor thing's got no backbone or pride. Linda dumped him not once, but twice and he just kept taking it! Some men are such fools. OK, OK! So some women are fools too! So don't be sending ME any women-dumping mail, OK? I guess what it all comes down to is the story-line, network ratings & big bucks for the producers of the show. They just have to keep torturing us with these 2 hour specials that consist of 1 hour & 45 minutes of RECAPS & commercials, and (if we're lucky) about 15 minutes of new story-line & a twisted ending! God, I thought I was watching last season's American Idol all over again! (Clay should have won, no doubt about it). Oh well, they'll keep doing it to us as long as we keep tuning in to watch! Despite my frustration, I'll be watching the next one, (if they can possibly pull it off one more time?!)

They need to flip the script and go with a drop dead gorgeous girl this time and like 15 guys ALL posing as millionaires and see if the girl will stick with her original pick when she finds out he is really poor and change the name a little to make it at least partly believable.

I agree that David is no Einstein but I think he made the right choice. Cat, however beautiful, would not last 5 minutes on that ranch. Maybe he could sense that. I do think that Linda is far prettier than Cat and has a good heart. I hope they make it - despite the odds.

Prettier than Cat???!!! I dissagree, Cat was by far the most pretty of the show along with the 3 Italian girls.

However I do agree that Cat would not really like the ranch life, because she IS my favorite, and I am glad that the dumb Southern Cowboy did not pick her because that makes my chances better once I go to Germany.

But you gotta remember that the whole "Linda effect" manifested itself when they looked at each other's eyes in a way it was good that Linda came back to get a second chance but once she did came back it became clear that the dumb Cowboy was only after the "play hard to get so she must be a virgin" girl.

I mean look at how he refered to Linda as being pure and all specially since she did not give it up due to her hiatus.

However I hated the whole southern Cowboy Idea as a representative on the USA to Europe, it made no sense at all unless in the US all the millionaires are only "cowboys"
