Maybe a cartoon, or anime style... Or even a Toy Story style animation
"It's a dangerous business, Frodo, going out your door. You step into the Road, and if you don't keep your feet, there is no knowing where you may be swept off to."
Bilbo Baggins
It would need a massive funding for all the CGI and sets, etc. I think it would work well in a tasteful anime film...

I think the only way to do the Silmarillion would be to break the contents of the book up into different stories and make them into episodes/ films.
I for one would quite happily walk into a cinema to watch the Tale of Turin or the story of Beren and Luthien. there are so many storyies involved hwever it would have to be a trillogy type.

Oh and JRKIV, you are the Tolkien expert! I still have a hard time remembering all the stuff in the Silmarillion. I am quite impressed with your knowledge.
man, I agree, but I know that much of the Silmarillion too! I am reading it for the second time now, and I want to know everything bout it! Anyway, they musn't try to make a movie of The Silmarillion. It is impossible to make it like it is in my mind, and I am sure they will blow the whole book. They can't set the Valar on screen.
That's right, when I'm 75 and they finally make a Simarillian movie, I'm totally gonna put on my virtual reality glasses and find Inreview.com and laugh at you in a 50 year old thread! And you know what? If you don't face me face-to-face you're a coward.
