Kevin: Remember that one time when I ate those napkins?
Me: (laughing) Yeah.
Kevin: That was funny. Do you remember what made me do it?
Me: I'm pretty sure you just said, "Hey, watch me eat these napkins".
Kevin: (laughing) Yeah, that sounds about right.

Yeah, I'd imagine alligator iron ons would be a little difficult to come by. Plus, you might've gotten some odd looks while checking out with them.

I will have to just live with my memories of my favorite shirts. I do have an Izod winter vest that I bought two years ago, but no alligator.

..memories of shirts....

I can't remember what I was wearing a year ago, much less care about it. Then again, I'm not big on fashion......

I am not into fashion now, but I did love those shirts. They would be great for a mom like me.

post #414  quote:

With the passing of President Reagan, I have been thinking about the whole era of the 80's. The fear of Nuclear war with the Soviet Union. This song by Sting sums up the fears of the generation. I was so shocked to hear anyone in the 80's write about it. I am going to post the lyrics, no disrespect is intended in this post .

In europe and america, there’s a growing feeling of hysteria
Conditioned to respond to all the threats
In the rhetorical speeches of the soviets
Mr. krushchev said we will bury you
I don’t subscribe to this point of view
It would be such an ignorant thing to do
If the russians love their children too

How can I save my little boy from oppenheimer’s deadly toy
There is no monopoly in common sense
On either side of the political fence
We share the same biology
Regardless of ideology
Believe me when I say to you
I hope the russians love their children too

There is no historical precedent
To put the words in the mouth of the president
There’s no such thing as a winnable war
It’s a lie that we don’t believe anymore
Mr. reagan says we will protect you
I don’t subscribe to this point of view
Believe me when I say to you
I hope the russians love their children too

We share the same biology
Regardless of ideology
What might save us, me, and you
Is that the russians love their children too

Just wanted to say that we've now got an Era's forum, and I've moved this into there. So, you don't just have to use this one thread to talk about the stuff from the 80's

Remember the show "Punky Brewster"??? Season 1 just came out on DVD, I bought it a couple days ago. Awesome show. It was my FAVORITE when I was little. It's 1984-1985 I believe. Available at Wal*Mart.

I remember Punky. I think the show did well, but the old dude she lived with on the show died and they dropped the show. I think that's right.
