I went for a job interview (wearing slacks and a jacket) and was informed by the Manager of the Company that she only permitted her girls to wear pants during the middle of winter, otherwise, they must wear skirts. I don't really wear skirts much so I didn't go back for the next Interview. I have since found a job with a more relaxed dress code where my boss dsoesn't care if it is skirts or pants, which is good.
I think as long as the pants suit is still respectable and you still look professional, woman can wear them at work.
Question: If a woman happens to have pretty bad varicose veins or scars on her legs, would an employer still want the lady to wear skirts or dresses? I think not. Why should women feel compelled to wear skirts or dresses? There could be very valid reasons a lady would prefer to wear slacks and I don't think they should be penalized if they do so in an interview. If an employer wants the perfect looking package, maybe he should hire a model and hope she can do the work.
Hey Schmiggens... I started a job once and showed up in slacks. I was informed that women were not allowed to wear slacks, only dresses or skirts. I quit.

stargazingxx said this in post #7 : now a days only receptionist job interviews require clothing attire like slacks and a dress shirt u can go to an interview in jeans and get hired
I highly doubt that. Most corporate jobs would show you the door the second you walk in with jeans and a t-shirt on.
Here is a link to an article which states the proper way to dress for an interview if you actually want to get HIRED..
