If you want to see fate play out in a humorous way, take this.
There are many pro-life people who are also pro-death penalty. Let's say we have a person that wants to have an abortion for financial reasons (a large percentage of women have abortions for this very reason). So abortion is outlawed, the woman is forced to have the child and then the cascade of poverty continues on the child. Growing up poor, the child grows up into a little hoodlum, then a career criminal. Well circumstances play out and now we find this individual on death row. The same pro-lifers that fought tooth and nail to have this child born are now the clamoring to pull the switch to kill this person. Now there's irony for you.
Instead of addressing people having abortions, I think energy would be better spent trying to create the conditions so that women would like to have the baby (i.e., social changes).
I don't know the key to success, but the key to failure is trying to please everybody.

You must have passed over my point. You do read all the posts in here right?
Your valid argument?
See above.
or is it you who is talking to be heard.
Yes...Im talking to you...but you havent heard me obviously...since its obvious you didnt read anything I've said.
The arguments I have offered on this thread to explain my position are at least as valid as anything anyone else has offered up on one side or another. Heck agreed that abortion as a means of birth control was asinine, I haven't heard any argument to support abortion for birth control. I conclude there is no intellectual position to support the use of abortion as a birth control device and in the absence of argument debate is impossible. It is agreed that abortion in cases of rape or health threat to the mother is acceptable.
I dont support abortion for birth control...but I dont truly believe that many use it or that reason as they need to have abortions for other reasons. People dont just go around having abortions instead of using birth control. Do many not use birth control? Probably...but if they get pregant because they didnt use it...who are you, or I or anyone else to say they HAVE to have it?
Have you thought that maybe they cant afford it...did you think of all the guys that took off on the woman because they dont want to be involved...I could go on and on.
Again, I ask...what are we supposed to do if these women dont want these children? Are you helping to support the millions of unwanted kids we already have in this world? Why add more when we cant figure out what to do with the ones we have?
So...are you helping to house and feed these unwanted kids already in the world? If not, then try another argument.
Of course thats just my opinion....I could be wrong. (Dennis Miller)

Reading your words reminded me of Thomas Moore's Utopia:
if you suffer your people to be ill-educated, and their manners to be corrupted from their infancy, and then punish them for those crimes to which their first education disposed them, what else is to be concluded from this but that you first make thieves and then punish them?'
