Who will win the playoffs? post #1  quote:

now i know the a's wont make is so
and i know that twins wont make it soo
i know that cubs wont make soo
that leaves marlins giants red sox and Yankees and braves

now marlins are good with Dontrelle Willis & Pudge Rodriguez
BUT they have tooo many bad players to screw it up so

braves are good and they have good pitching BUT people like Greg Maddox are not helping the team to win soo

Boston's, has -been ,Pedro Martinez is Definitely NOT helping the team because of his messed-up ability to throw soo

now giants are great with Barry Bonds and Jason Schmidt because bonds is hitting and walking and getting on base & and i know Jason is kinda having difficulties BUT his difficulties will not make him bad soo

Now Yankees... i know that Roger Clements is going through ALDS BUT that does not stop the NEW YORK YANKEES from hitting great and pitching great soo

And now the World series...

I seriously think that the NEW YORK YANKEES will win the World Series. If they won , i wouldnt be supprised that they won. I think the game would me close with the NEW YORK YANKEES on top by the score of about 5-4.

Im Lance K. If u have any responses feel free to respond. BYE bYE

Ok, Barry and the Giants are gone. Atlanta and the Cubbies in the finale. Who's gonna win? I give Atlanta the edge. Boston just hit a 2 run shot to stay alive and the Yanks have regained the edge. All the games have been very close. Great pitching and no blow outs. It's only getting better.

Wow, the cubs pounding 12 runs. They've got a tremendous shot. I thought the Braves would win game 5, but Cubs got GREAT pitching. They'll beat Pudge and the Marlins because of that. Let's wait and see.

How about the Yankees or the Redsox???? Who will advance to the World Series????

Well, obviously, the Cubs have to do it tomorrow ... I mean, they can't give away two games in a row =0)

I think a Cubs / Red Sox series would be quite interesting!

Agree, but Cubs beating the Yankees might be more satisfying

Who is this ummmm ... "fan" who interfered ? A
Marlin's fan ? Maybe a White Sox fan ?

The Marlin's coach said in a post game interview that the fan-grab was not the turning point of the game and he was dead wrong.

What this ball grabber guy clearly did, was interfered with the Cubs' focus and momentum.

Both Alou and Prior were visibly angry ... distracted ... rattled. Someone should have given them a little pep talk and re-focused them all ... epecially Prior ... on the task at hand, winning the game ... and not the fan.

Dusty and the players who I saw interviewed were very, VERY down and subdued.

The analysts are saying the Cubs will be under tremendous pressure this evening.

We can only hope that they don't let the doom & gloom of last nite's fiasco linger and the pressure distract them.

Rather than being demoralized, we hope the team can channel all that adrenaline from the pressure ( and some anger ?) into concentrated determination and turn it into a big WIN.

The sad irony, is that should the Cubs lose, it will long be blamed on a member of the most staunchly loyal of Baseball fan bases, ... this one overly enthusiastic ... Cubs Fan.

GO

CUBS

I think you did a great job with your analyzation of what took place in yesterday's game..

I agree, I think the Cubs really overreacted (especially Alou) and lost their composure. This changed the entire momentum and it felt almost as though they were not only battling the Marlins but their own home crowd.

This said, I almost get the feeling like home field is a disadvantage for the Cubs. Boy, I tell ya, I can't believe how one play can change the face of the game and possible the series.

Remember what it did to Baltimore a number of years ago against the Yankees at the Stadium when Baltimore was up 2 and Jeter hit a controversial homerun (that Jeffrey Mayor interfered with) that tied the ball game. That changed the complexion of the game and eventually Bernie would hit a walk off home run in the 11th to win that game. The Yankees went on to win the series and eventually becoming Champions of Baseball.

Now the Cubs have to dig deep down inside and gut this one out. And like you said, they have a huge amount of pressure to win tonight. Not only are they going against a revived Marlins team, but also against history. Tough feat.

Let's see what happens.

My apologies vobrien13, but this series had a tremendous amount of emotion for us Yankees fans, especially after what had happened out there in Fenway with Pedro, Manny, Karim, Jorge and Zimmer.

Wow, all I was thinking when Posada came up to the plate last night was when Pedro was pointing at his head and saying "I'll hit you too" in Game 3. Boy, Posada came through BIG time and got a little bit of revenge! Alot of emotion for Yankees fans. And of course Bucky De..., uh I mean Aaron "bleepin" Boone's shot that sent us to the World Series.

I know the Yankees have been here before many times, But there was a whole lot of emotion in this series and it just exploded last night. I hope you understand vobrien13.

Long live the Curse!!!

I almost had a meltdown during game 6 when the Cubs were leading. My gut just told me ... that is I just KNEW something stinkin' bad was going to happen.

I tried to think positively, regarding Game 7 ... but never got past the nigglin feeling that the Cubs' chances for the pennant was run over by the "8-ball" .. so to speak

Bitter indeed !

I agree and no offense, intended but the only hope for some second-hand joy in Chicago, is if the Marlins kick some Yankee butt

Of course ... I would like to see someone wipe that look from Pudge's face

Arrrrrrrrrrrrgh ! As was written on a Cubs' fan's sign at Game 7 ....

"VICTORY OR THERAPY"

Well since victory has eluded us ...
