no offence taken, but it's nice of you to say that to be honest
I think such a custom is nice, if you're religious or not, since it does promote respect for animals. I'd probably join if I were in the US, and also had some free time.
Update on my dalmation: to me she seems to be getting worse, she started throwing up food again, so is getting even more weak... but last night she kept jumping onto the bed and resting for a while, then getting off the bed, then getting back on the bed... it's nice she can climb up onto the bed, but I didn't have a good night sleep
Also, this morning, my wife found a ball on a shelf... she dropped it on the floor and my baby stood up, picked it up with her mouth and brought it to me. Was so cute... (almost too cute )

I'm going with my pet to an animal blessing service on Saturday morning. Will add a special request for you and yours ... especially your Dal-baby

SDRVT will know more about these things than I.
But ... do watch that vomiting as animals can dehydrate so very quickly. I know they ( vets) can help keep them hydrated and supplement fluids by introducing some under their skin.
That nighttime restlessness ( in my experience ) can be a sign of some physical discomfort or possibly a side effect of any meds she's on. Be sure to let the vet know.

Dal-baby sure sounds like a real jewel, gabo. Enjoy every single moment. How lucky you are to have found each other.

Perhaps you will start a similar custom/practice in your country someday
I admit that recently, at my vets suggestion, I have been exploring resources other than conventional western medicine for my pets. Studies have found that a combination of protocols can be very beneficial.
It is, however, somewhat difficult to find qualified, honest and true practicioners of Chinese medicine here. If I look up "herbalist" I get a health food store I think perhaps you would be more successful in your country ?
Again, no offense intended but if you choose, this folowing link is t a page that contains a "do-it-yourself" animal blessing as well as a prayer for a sick animal.
http://www.americancatholic.org/Fea...ncis/animal.asp
In any case, yours and the pets of all here will be included in my thoughts.

they're not very big, but they're not tiny either... so to answer: I'm not sure
Nini, she's so cute, she can be used any way you want and she wont complain or run away... sometimes we pick her up and pretend she's dancing or something and she just sits there and takes it... then when you're done she'll come climb up ontop of you again, forgetting all about it. She sometimes plays with our dogs... one of our dogs loves to play with her (though he's big and she's so small) she doesn't mind playing with them, usually, but she doesn't like having her butt sniffed....
Kitty is very withdrawn for some reason... she's scared of everything and doesn't like to be around people too much. But she is pretty jealous of nini, so we try to include her in lots of things. One day I realised I hadn't seen her for 2 days, and I went looking for her, a little worried... I found her hiding inside one of our lounges... she was just sleeping there, and didn't feel like coming out... *shakes head* silly puddy. When she does come out, she is cute... but when she wants to sleep on your lap or tummy or something, she always ALWAYS sticks her claws into you for about an hour (to make you tender, I guess) then decides "okay, I can sleep now" ... grrrr...
