The Core post #1  quote:

We just rented this movie, last night. It was a lot like the movies Armageddon and Deep Impact, in the sense where the world is about to expire from something horrible, and there is a crew that is sent to the core of the earth to save all of mankind.

It was a bit lengthy... I think like 2 h 15m... but it was good. I love Hillary Swank. She's a great actress, and does a good job in this movie.

No, this is no academy award winning movie... but it is still an enjoyable couple of hours. Is it believable? Well, I think that with science, anything is possible. Makes you think.

Science Fiction/Fantasy, Action/Adventure and Thriller
2 hrs. 15 min. Geophysicist Dr. Josh Keyes (Eckhart) discovers that an unknown force has caused the Earth's inner core to stop rotating. With the planet's magnetic field rapidly deteriorating, our atmosphere literally starts to come apart at the seams with catastrophic consequences. To resolve the crisis, Keyes, along with a team of the world's most gifted scientists, travel into the Earth's core in a subterranean craft piloted by "terranauts," Major Rebecca "Beck" Childs (Swank) and Colonel Robert Iverson (Greenwood). Their mission: detonate a device that will reactivate the core.

MPAA Rating: PG-13 for sci-fi life/death situations and brief strong language.

Aaron Eckhart, Hilary Swank, Delroy Lindo, Bruce Greenwood, Stanley Tucci

Did anyone see "The Day AFter Tomorrow? One of the funniest scenes in this movie was where a group of people were making their way to the library building in New York. A tsunami had hit and water was up to the waist of the Statue of Liberty and was knocking down tall buildings. But our hero and his group make their way to the library where they know they will be safe from the onslaught of water. They get to the door just in time and close it and this simple wooden door holds back all that water. Only in the movies.

I thought this was an okay movie all together. The only I didn't like about it is that it reminded me way too much of Armageddon, other then that this was a pretty awesome movie
