Position: Short term contract application developer
Requirements: Linux O/S use & administration, development tools (gcc, gdb, cvs, etc), application customization (such as Mozilla & other graphical browsers), client/server daemons in C++ (TCP/UDP sockets), familiarity with databases.
Project Description: We would like you to produce a customized version of Mozilla with full JavaScript, Cookies, CSS and flash support for an X86 server which will deliver output to a remote x-server console. The customization work involves eliminating all graphical GUI widgets of the browser and forcing it to operate in full screen mode such that the entire screen resolution is occupied by the content window. Further, we require the development of a client wrapper that will listen to a server over TCP or UDP such that incoming messages will allow remote control of the browser’s location. You would also create the server daemon and establish a data encapsulation scheme to pass data over the network. The daemon must be able to receive text-based messages over a streaming TCP socket from a remote controlling server as well as UDP-broadcasted messages from various server-side control applications and be able to direct messages as needed to one or more browser clients
