Wher did this rivalry with Ashanti come from? Did Ashanti say "I am going to be the new Aaliyah"? Has anyone with any authority ever said anything to that effect? If not, then why do harp on about Ashanti so much? I doubt that she even cares whether or not she comes to some imaginary standard created by the hard core fans of Aaliyah. Why not go nuts over Christina Milian or Samantha Mumba or anyone else for that matter not being as good as Aaliyah?
