Thumbs down This TV Show Sucks post #1  quote:

They don't meet.
They don't ever see each other.
There is nothing on the line.
Losers don't feel that they've lost anything at all, really.
All these people are doing are selling themselves to some unknown fate.
It's a really, really pathetically lame attempt at a "reality TV" show.

Smile; It confuses people.

This TV Show Sucks - but WILL rock post #2  quote:

Right now - it seems lame - but when the people get hitched and have to deal with one another under the circumstances - then it's going to get good.

I agree, this is a very lame show and I don't plan to watch it.

I gave episode two a full watch-thru.. and it's still weak. as I understand it the show ill change pace once they've got the selections narrowed down though, so we'll see how things go around then.

I watched the first show because I was in "Joe" and "Trista" withdrawal,so I was desperate. YUUUUUCK! I didn't watch the 2nd show. I actually thought the people who were in the sound proof booths were interesting, but the poor singles being led to slaughter by the families, and the families and friends themselves were lacking in whatever spark is required to hold my attention. I really felt sorry for the rejects. I just don't "get" the show.
I'm boycotting and holding out for the next Big Brother series.

never saw it, never will....my god, what has the world come to, give someone a little money and they'll do anything, especially when they are too lazy to go find someone real, hey at least they will suit each other cuz theyre all lame (we all know it's a skam cuz it's the easiest way for TV stations to make money cuz it doesn't cost that much to finance, but at least american idol is somewhat real)

yeah.. it looks like it's going in a better direction.. I just think the whole contestant selection/voting thing to now has been a big waste of time. Couple DAMN cutie chicks on there.. I gotta figure out these peoples' names.. the one dallr, dark haired guy sounded like a total ass when his proposal came out (paraphrased) "yeah well you know, I've been waiting for this for a long time and I hope you're the chick of my dreams, so will you marry me?" what a dumpy bastard.. he prolly doesn't deserve Denise.

Having seen the concluding episode last night, I return to my original assessment: this T.V. show sucks.

After Kevin & Jill blew it, I was saying to myself that Billie Jeanne & Tony would HAVE to get married, otherwise nobody would ever watch Fox "reality" programming again. Oh well. I thought this thing was crap to begin with, it was crap through the middle, and crap straight through to the end. Total waste of brain cells. *sigh* I'll never regain those precious hours.

Well, I have to reassess my original opinion of this show because after the 1st show, I didn't watch the second one because I thought it was juts plain boring!, But then I did watch the 3rd and subsequent shows and I got hooked. I think the premise of the experiment-based on arranged marriages I believe, is that you can learn to love anyone. I think the therapists/judges did a good job of weeding out the couples least likely to succeed and the final two couples were the best choices. In my opinion, Jill and Kevin were well suited. I think he was total enthralled with her beauty and personality, and despite the concerns he expressed regarding her Playboy history, I think he was secretly impressed to have a fiance who had been in the scandalous mag. I think that he needs to get in touch with that and his family needs to loosen the apron strings. I think Jill saw the family opinion of her as the only obstacle to her saying yes. I don't think she saw his supposed lack of career direction as an extreemly large issue. Kevin made the remark that he was well taken care of and didn't need to make any hasty decisions about his financial security for a while. Obviously that is a tactful way of saying he's got a financial reserve that will allow him to find something he likes to do that will hold out until he does.
I think that Billie Jeanne played the game best. Despite what we perceive her to be; a loud, tactless free spirit, she let down her guard and was open to the idea that she could fall in love, and she did fall in love. Given her normal lack of restraint in expressing her thoughts, I was very impressed with how she handled herself after Tony said No at the altar. I think Tony made a good decision, but again, I think his opinion of her changed as soon as he introduced her to his Dad. I think he was embarassed of her behavior that night and it changed the way he thought of her. I think that he forgot about all the other good qualities Billie Jeanne has. It's too bad she was devastated, and I see that she wouldn't likely want him after that, but I also think it was a good thing, because he obviously didn't value her like she should be valued by someone in marriage. To his credit, I think he expressed that, and apologised for it when he said No.
Out of both of the couples, I think that Billie Jeanne and Tony have the best chance of a future relationship if she can get over being hurt and he can accept her for her wild crazy self.
that's the novel for this series!!!
