We got our pictures back from our vacation a few weeks ago and one of them is really weird. We went on a Cemetary candlelight tour and took 2 pictures, 1 with the guide which is okay but the other one I took a few minutes after the tour was finished is suprizing. There is about 25 (mostly in the air) round orbs in front and in the back of my husband. It was a humid evening without rain and all our other pictures are okay. I am trying to contact the guide to see if this has ever happen before.
Something I should also mention is that I seem to attract or be more receptive to these things (I would love for this to stop). I also saw that evening in the cemetery a light twirling around for about 10 seconds (this is not a first). I know that another man saw this because we looked at each other and confirmed to each other what had just happen.
Any ideas what the orbs could be? I am hoping that it is just a lab error in processing the film.
The quality is a bit lesser than the original scan because of the limited size permitted. However, they are still visible.
(ps. I hope the picture will show, the preview does not show it but it is under the 102 kb size, if it does not appear, please let me know what I'm doing wrong)
Thanks
The pictures after and before were crystal clear and there is also a shutter that protects the lenses. That was also my first idea but it is not that easy. The only thing that I can think of is moisture but again I am not sure.
It almost looks like rain spots on the lens of the camera but you said the pics before and after don't show that. You should show use those as well. Take a look at the negative, it may have some dust or debris on it.
In addition, the orbs could be light moisture, dust, etc. just in front of the camera that are illuminated by the close proximity of the flash on the camera.
I have to agree with you on this one Marc, I studied photography for 2 years and I have seen this before. Reminds me of when I took my camera to a motorcross event and I must have sweated and a drop of sweat got on my lens and I didn't know it. Of course every picture after that had a spot which leads me to think that this was on the film and not the lens.
It could be dust or light moisture but I am wondering why the rest of the film is okay. If anyone wants to see the other picture taken in the cemetary I will posted it here tommorow evening. The ones taken after were not in the cemetary but have no orbs either. Again it wasn't raining that evening but it was very humid. My camera is a Kodak Star 6 3 S and yes it does have a shutter that protects the lenses. i am not assuming anything but very curious to know what cause this. Thank you for all your ideas.
I was watching a nightime live shot of the news the other day and saw these same types of orbs moveing back and forth across the screen behind the reporter. I couldn't believe it I actually saw them. Then I realized what they were. Lights, from vehicles moving on a road somewhere behind the reporter. Depending on the angle of the shot they either looked like lights in the distance or blured orbs.
Back in the 1980's I took a bunch of Boy Scouts camping out in the Badlands of South Dakota. Let me tell you how dark it was. There wasn't a light source for maybe 25 or more miles. And I would have to say that there wasn't even a town within 30 miles. I am not kidding you could place your hand in front of your face and not see it. All of a sudden I saw the 2 lights, they were high in the sky and they were bouncing and moving. Sometimes at what seemed a high rate of speed. They appeared to be getting closer and closer. Suddenly they disappeared but they came right back still getting closer. All of a sudden again the dropped coming straight down. Then I hear footsteps and a voice, hey did you miss us?
It was 2 of my scouts who went to the restroom. One of the scouts had these glasses on that had 2 light on each side. I'm sure you've seen them. The reason they were so high in the sky was because they were coming over one of the sand hills. The bouncing was his walking. They disappeared because he turned around to look at his buddy. They dropped when they came down the mound to our level. Of course we all laughed about it. But it just goes to show you that when you don't know what it is it can be interpreted as something mysterious.
Thank you to all for your suggestions and ideas. After going to the shop where I got pictures printed these are the thoughts I got from them from what it was: I was asked if were where making bubbles, of course I hang around in cemetaries at night blowing bubbles, I was after this told that it was the reflections of the one candle (since at that time we were alone) that made those orbs (possible but why is there no orbs on the other picture), so my conclusion is: I still don't know probably either dust, lights or ?. If any one wants to see the other picture please send me your e-mail since it is to complicated to post.
Ron
Your ideas where great and so was your scout story (also a scout leader). The place where the picture was taken was a very small town with almost no passing cars. I did look at the negatives and they seem clean but do show the same orbs, thank you for your help.
HEY CORN POKE you said there was a picture!! where is it POST IT!!! I will post a good wierd picture taken in a cemetary check this out.......

I had a weird dream about a cemetery once. It wasn't scary or anything like that. It was just weird and later it became kind of freaky.
There were these black iron gates. One the outside of there was a crowd of people and on the inside of the gates was a man dressed in a tailed suit and a top hat. The man was pushing the gate closed and locking it like he was either trying to keep the people out of trying to keep something in.
Anyway, that was the extent of my dream. A week later, I was sitting in class surfing the Internet when I came across an exact picture of the iron gate that was in my dream. Come to find out, the gate was the entrance to a cemetery in London. A cemetery which is still used today.
