Wasn't it obvious that some of the kids were lip syncing on Tuesday's show? I think all of them are, some do a good job, some don't. How does it make you feel that they are allowed to pre-record their song and get it right before they perform it for the viewing public? How do we know if they can really sing under pressure? So what you're seeing (and voting for) is not what you are really getting.
Looks like Fox got the message that many viewers and studio audience members caught on to the lip syncing last week. Either they were really singing last night or it wasn't so obvious. Most of the kids were singing to some loud background vocals though which makes them sound better and hopefully is meant to keep them on pitch. Some kids really had it turned up loud.
Don't get me wrong. I think all the kids are talented, however the producers are doing a real good sell job now, to make money off of them in the future. I know most of you love this show and the talent, although keep in mind, that when you buy into it, the kids will get even more exploited.
I think they absolutely lip-synced during those group numbers they did, but I am pretty positive that the solo numbers they do are LIVE because you can tell by looking. These are kids, and they can't remember every single run or ad lib they did and unless they are like little professionals and practiced lip-syncing, which I know they are not. So, they do it all right there. Except the group performances.

I agree that during the group numbers at least a few were lip-syncing but the solo's were live. I know they are not that good at lip syncing.
ya its pretty obvious that theyre lip syncing during the group performances not just because they aren't very good @ it but bcuz they dont even sound like their actual voices..like lauren kleina or w/e her name was actually sounded good in the group number so im guessing they mess w/ it b4 they play it to make it sound better or something
i think that the backup singers were lip syncing, for example chantel when singing sundown was really singing, but the rest of the group seemed pre-recorded and they were up there lip syncing...i dont think it is a big deal bc practically every pop singer ( britney, justin, christina) lip syncs or use pre recorded back up vocals anyhow...its just to hard to get it all perfect and dance around on stage at the same time! Anyways it doesnt matter bc we know all the kids are extraordinary singers anyhow and they arent leading us on...
What's the reason for lip synching in the early stages of their careers? I know dancing around, backup vocals, etc. makes them sound worse but what's the real reason.
jordan was the one who got me thinking if they were lip syncing cause her voice sounded different and it looked like she wasn't on time with the mouthing of the words but i don't think that they all were lip syncing cause you see them mess up sometimes
i think they were lip syncing cuz do u remember katelyn's last performance?have u ever?well if u watch real closely (but i doubt u have to look that hard,it's pretty close up),u can see tori looking at the camera with her right hand out.watch her lips.they don't move at all!yet the background vocals still sound the same.uh-oh...caught!
