I know this is not about AI2, but what do you think about what is going on with Kelly and Justin? Do you think that they have had their 15 minutes of stardom? Has Clay and Ruben replaced them?
It's hard not to compare them. I know a lot of people did not watch AI last year. I guess I was one of the few that did. I was really drawn into it last year. I really felt that the talent was the best. But now, I have to say that I really think that AI2 winners will continue way past AI3 and more. But AI1 winners just don't seem to have what it is going to take to make it. You compare them to Clay and Ruben and I just can't see it. Maybe I'm wrong, tell me what you think. Will Kelly and Justin continue down that path of richness or will they just find themselves being a has been by the ripe old age of less than 30?
honestly, since i never watched AI 1, i hadn't heard of them til i started watching AI2, and since i watch Boston Public i'd seen tamyra gray sing there.
kelly clarkson sounds good, looks good, but kinda blends in with every other female pop star, or at least anytime i've seen her singing.
justin guarini........damn. i don't understand how the hell he ever won anything! can't sing, looks weird with that chia pet hair and scrawny body, i guess he's got a good looking face but in show biz what else is new. i can't see him having any staying power at all. kelly, maybe.
on top of everything else irritating about guarini is when he's interviewed he sounds like a horse's ass, going on and on about how it feels to be a famous celebrity like he thinks he's harrison ford or eddie murphy......HA!
Well, it's not totally dead. Really...I still heard stuff about Kelly and Justin when AI2 was going on. I still hear stuff about them...they're just as popular as any other pop stars now, and will get pretty much the same press coverage as them, too.

If they leave Justin on his own without pairing him up with Kelly or trying to shirt-tail off of Clay and Ruben (Oprah Show), then he will fade away fairly quicky.
Kelly will probably hold her own for awhile and may be around for a few years or more, for she does have a nice voice and cute face, but she better watch her weight 'cause she looks like she could assplode if she doesn't!

I can see Kelly hanging in there, she's got the potential like Christina and Britney. Seeing how those two do have a fanbase which is still active, so will Kelly. (Hey, "Miss Independent was supposed to be a Christina song). Justin, one word: NOOOOOO!
I don't see this boy's album reaching gold. I'm sorry. He's trying way too hard. He's a tribute artist, ripping off every-other male solo artist. You may think Kelly is a rip off of Christina and Britney, but what IS the diff between those two, anyways? The one thing Kelly has that will keep her around is she is a trend-setter. She does know how to dress good without revealing too much skin.
Back to Justin. I really think he should have released the album before AI2 finished. Like the execs of the show said: they made a mistake last season by waiting almost a year to release Kelly and Justin's albums. That's why Clay and Ruben's are comming out soon. Justin just lucked out.
So in conclusion: Justin is at the 14:02mins/sec mark out of his 15 mins of fame.
Kelly: I'll give her an honest 10mins. I think she's still got some more stuff up her sleeve.

If American Idol 1 isn't dead, guess Justin is trying to get it there. Stardom gone to his head or what. Almost hitting a little girl with a jet ski is not the way to keep his name in the papers.
He should be in the recording studio trying to improve his CD, and leaving the fun and sun to those like Kelly and Clay who have made it to number 1 on the record charts already.

Well, you know, all the popular celebrities do stupid things to see if they could get themselves arrested, so I guess Justin just thought that since he is now a "celebrity" that he can do pretty much whatever he wants. Yeah, right Justin.

I don't think that replace would be the word I would use. I think the talent of Clay and Ruben is true. It will continue to bring them to the road to fame.
Kelly has talent, so she will continue on, but Justin - - - I really don't see the kind of talent that will carry him on. I think at this point he is riding on the coat tails of Clay, Ruben, and Kelly.
When it comes time for AI3, Justin G, will turn into Justin Who?
Talent will carry Clay, Ruben, and Kelly. But I'm sure that the talent coming in January on AI3 will be great. As the years go on, I think more and more people will not be afraid to go after their dream.
They have Clay and Ruben to thank for that. As they have said - - - - If this was AI1, they would have never made it to the finals. Because the first year there was more concern on looks.
Clay and Ruben have shown that talent is what counts. Not what you look like.
I say bring on AI3 - Let someone else out there realize their dreams.
I really like Kelly and I think she will do very well, in the years to come, with her music. I'm not sure about Justin cuz I don't hear a whole lot about him, so he might not succeed. As for as Ruben and Clay, I beleive Clay will do as well as Kelly but not sure about Ruben. I hope Ruben does well cuz he won the title and he deserves to have some fame too.
