This is surely a joke post #1  quote:

So I was looking on the WWE website and I noticed that the program Heat is havin a special show on one wrestler. Now I was thinking cool who will it be Hulk Hogan, Bret Hart maybe even Steve Austin, no chance the show is all about John Cena I was like WTF in the past these things waited until the wrestlers carreer was over or was nearly over, the guy had been in the business for years or the guy had just kicked the bucket but WWE have changed this trend and Cena get a show all about him ( what is Raw not enough?) just because he is the man in somebodys eyes I honesalty belive that the other supersatrs must be getting a little sick of this we all know it's why Edge left Raw and Shawn Michales neraly did not go to Wrestlemania so how much more of this are we all expected to stomach I mena it's not like he an exceptrinal wrestler or spekaer and despite what the King ( no more than a Cena whore nowadays) keeps telling us he is NOT controversial people just don't like him there is a diffrence, by the WWE's reckoning Bush can go about saying he is the most controversial president the US has ever had.

I like the rant.

I'm totally with you Lodge. Cena must be kissing the bosses ass from the moment he wakes up in the morning to the moment he goes to sleep at night.

I wish the WWE would just stop pushing him when the majority of people dont like him. An giving him a best-of-Cena-Heat will only serve to prove what a dreadfull wrestler he actually is.

Now if I can just dig out one of my early cloumns...ah! here it is, an edited version, see what you think of it:

((Have I posted this before? ))

quote:
2nd Edition:

John Cena - Controversy or Cash?

It seems that, no matter who you are or where you come from or even how much you know about wrestling, everyone has an opinion on WWE?s golden boy John Cena. His major gimmick alone has caused me to be against him from the moment he started rapping but his lesser gimmick is ?the most controversial Champion in WWE history? which I dispute.

I not only dispute this but can name at least two champions in WWE history who were more controversial than Cena is. One being Roddy Piper and the other being Stone Cold Steve Austin. While their antics may seem somewhat tame now they were more outrageous in their day. In fact some of the Pipers Pit segments still seem outrageous now.

What exactly has John Cena done to get this title as a controversial champion? He debuted against Kurt Angle on Smackdown! and almost beat him. You knew when that happened that Cena was going to be a big name wrestler in the future. He then had his best spell, as far a heat from the fans is concerned, when he was a heel and employed Jesus ((Hey-Zeus)) and won the US title. It was at this point he began rapping on his way to the ring. Cena had a face turn after a while and the fans on Smackdown! took to his rap gimmick and he became one of the big stars of Smackdown! and won the WWE title. The worst thing for Cena?s career happened then as he was drafted to RAW.

Perhaps the WWE sees more in Cena than I do, after all they are in the position to do so, but I can?t see what he has done to become 3 time WWE champion. He doesn?t stand out to me as WWE championship material, I would be far more happy with Orton or Triple H or Shawn Micheals ((who are the biggest names wrestlers on Raw)) as champion and Cena on Smackdown!

Cena?s target audience is children to teenagers, most wrestling traditionalist don?t like Cena and would prefer him not to be in the title hunt every time he doesn?t have the title. I fall into this category. Cena as a wrestler employs one submission hold, a clothesline or two, punches, his version the fist drop and a glorified Death Valley Driver. He follows the Rock sort of formula of brawlers who employ only a handful of wrestling moves as opposed to the wrestlers who can also brawl.

He is no where near the most capable wrestler the WWE have, so he wouldn?t have won any of his titles if these were the days of Lou Thesz, Gorgeous George and Killer Kawolski, however in these times the wrestler who is the most marketable tends to at the top of the business.

I agree with most fo the article however I have been to WWE events in the UK and the US and Cenas main fan base at these events are teenage girls and thier mums it's kind of like the boyband thing he' good looking, young and seems to be clean cut so they love the guy and buy all his merchandise.

Mind you there maye be a title change all be it a temporary one at the Great American Bash. Apart from Cena Vince likes big mucle bound guys like Lashley, secondly the GAB is about all good things that are American so the idea of an ex US serviceman being beat at the GAB won't sit well. Thirdly as my brother was saying maybe Heat was not about celebrating Cena title reign but remembering it as it may soon be over.

You might be right about the title change Lodge, not only however for the reasons you said but rather for a different and perhaps more laughable one.

After his great"sucess" in The Marine John Cena is being roumored to be in line to star in the next WWE film.
