Fantasy novels and their artwork post #1  quote:

Hi everyone,

I’m very happy to say that I’ve just had my debut novel published and would love to swap thoughts and opinions on what makes a compelling read. With this in mind, what do you think attracts a potential reader? Would it be the front cover like mine below or is it more likely to be on the strength of the synopsis? Just how important is the cover art and what really determines our decision to invest the time to actually sit down and read a book? As a new author, I feel these questions are very important, so any insights you can give will be greatly appreciated.

I will admit that I tend to be drawn to a novel by the cover first and then if I find the cover interest me I will read the back and find out what the book is about.

The cover is mainly there to draw attention to the book itself and for that reason it is very important. Looking at the cover I have to say that I would have been drawn to the book if I were in a store looking around.

Is this book available in the UK? If so I will get it, read it and tell you what I think of it....if you want me to.

Hi post #3  quote:

Hi White Tiger!

Thanks for replying. Yes, it is available in the UK. You can find it on lots of on-line book sites. You could start off with Amazon and they have the synopsis to give you a better idea of what the story is about. And of course I would be very happy indeed to hear your opinion on my novel. At this stage when it hasn't been out very long, feedback is really important

Thanks again.

Let me know how you get on.

There are a number of mini reviews on Amazon for anyone interested in knowing more about The Magic Lands. It would be great to hear from some readers and I'm always happy to answer questions!
