Pictures of a shirtless Daniel Radcliffe that are being used to promote his new play are causing controversy among fans of the "Harry Potter" movies.
The young star peels off clothes in the promotional photos for his London West End run in "Equus." He reportedly will also appear naked and have a sex scene in the play.
The pictures have already become popular among young female fans of the 17-year-old -- most famous for his role in the boy wizard franchise.
But parents are up in arms and are bombarding "Harry Potter" fansites with emails.
One reads, "We as parents feel Daniel should not appear nude. Our 9-year-old son looks up to him as a role model. We are very disappointed and will avoid the future movies he makes."
Radcliffe's spokesperson Vanessa Davies tells Britain's the Daily Mail, "Daniel does not want to step away from 'Harry Potter' but he does want to show he is a rounded actor capable of very different roles. He has tremendous support from 'Harry Potter' fans."
Honestly! Dont these people have anything better to do?
I was of the impression that Daniel Radcliffe was an actor and, as an actor, he was going to appear in works other than Harry Potter.
If he cannot appear in an award winning play without some small minded people complaining about him doing something more mature than Harry Potter then he has a very dismal future in acting.
Do these people want him to live his life on the royalties of Harry Potter for the rest of his life.
HE'S AN ACTOR!!! IT'S HIS JOB!!!!!!!!! GET OVER IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree with you, White Tiger. Do these people honestly expect him to be Harry forever? He should be allowed to branch out to more mature roles without criticism.
"Man is a marvelous curiosity ... he thinks he is the Creator's pet ... he even believes the Creator loves him; has a passion for him; sits up nights to admire him; yes and watch over him and keep him out of trouble. He prays to him and thinks He listens. Isn't it a quaint idea." Mark Twain
