Paula Abdul called off all her interviews Friday after clips of an earlier TV appearance popped up all over the internet. In the interview, Paula seemed more than just a little tipsy. She's slurring her words and waving her hands around, causing many to speculate that she was on something. So she ditched her remaining interviews while her spokesman issued some statement blaming her behavior on fatigue and a throat infection. Meantime, Fox is standing behind their girl, blaming her actions on "technical difficulties." Their statement says, "All of us at Fox have tremendous respect and admiration for Paula Abdul. She is a consummate professional who always gives 100% to everything she does. Last week, during a satellite press tour there were intermittent technical difficulties, including severe audio issues in which multiple stations were speaking to her at once. Rather than getting angry about these difficulties, or stopping the tour, Paula forged ahead and decided to have fun with the increasingly challenging situation. Unfortunately, because reporters and viewers were unaware of situation her humor was misconstrued.

Britney Spears and her new man, Isaac Cohen, enjoyed a weekend at a Fantasy Tower suite at The Palms in Las Vegas. On Saturday, the new couple reportedly stayed in the tower's $40,000-a-night, two-story Hugh Hefner Sky Villa that includes a Jacuzzi pool, a glass elevator, an 8-ft. rotating bed and a full bar are among the amenities. One insider says that Spears and Cohen "seemed very happy together." This was the second weekend in a row that the couple was seen together. On January 6, they hung out on a powerboat off the coast of Marina del Rey and met up the next night at the W Hotel's Whiskey Blue bar in Westwood.

"Babel" won best drama and "Dreamgirls" was named best musical or comedy at last night's Golden Globes, making them potential front-runners for a showdown at the Academy Awards. Helen Mirren won best actress as Britain's Elizabeth II in "The Queen," while Forest Whitaker took best actor in "The Last King of Scotland." "Dreamgirls" also won acting honors for Eddie Murphy and Jennifer Hudson. Sacha Baron Cohen received the Globe for best actor in a movie musical or comedy for "Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan." Meryl Streep won her sixth Golden Globe for "The Devil Wears Prada." The best director prize went to Martin Scorsese for "The Departed." Clint Eastwood's "Letters From Iwo Jima" won the honor for foreign-language film. "Cars" took the first-ever Golden Globe for animated film. Warren Beatty received the Cecil B. DeMille Award for lifetime achievement. Nominations for the Oscars closed Saturday, so the outcome of the Globes cannot affect who gets nominated.

In the ladies' room at LAX, a teen female fan spotted PARIS HILTON checking her makeup in the mirror and squealed, "Oh my God, you're Paris Hilton. I just love you and I even bought your album." The girl then pulled out her cell phone and said "Look, I even have your song 'Stars Are Blind' as my ring tone!" Paris, intent on getting her lipstick on straight, gave the teen a blasé glance and said, "I don't really care." As the star exited, the pissed-off girl yelled, "You really are a *****! I'm taking your song off my phone and throwing your album away!"

Lindsay Lohan is allegedly seeing "Girls Gone Wild" creator Joe Francis. Friends say Francis was with her when she went to the hospital two weeks ago to have her appendix out, and they planned to leave Saturday for a mini-vacation at Francis' Mexican estate, but decided to stay in town. The pal says, "Neither of them could resist the lure of the Golden Globe parties."

Who are the hot new couples in Hollywood? If you believe the rumors, Whitney Houston and Brandy's little brother Ray-J are dating. The two of them were seen sharing an intimate dinner at Maestro's Steakhouse in Beverly Hills Sunday night. Ray-J is 18 years younger than Whitney!! Another rumored celebrity couple? Renee Zellweger and Luke Perry!! Sources say the two were definitely on a date when they were spotted at the Tower Bar restaurant last week. One source said, "They both looked super-skinny. He was looking very grungy -- baggy jeans, lumberjack flannel shirt and baseball cap. She had on a white button-down shirt, glasses and striped pants. They were talking very closely and rubbing knees."

The Whole Foods manager had to ask Jessica Simpson to leave his store because of the media frenzy she brought with her. Jessica was just trying to do a little grocery shopping when a swarm of photographers descended on the store. Jessica says, "The manager gave me his card and said, 'Jessica, I'd appreciate it if you wouldn't come in during store hours...Give me a call and I'll open up early or you can come in after we close. But this is very distracting for all my customers.'" Jessica says she was shocked and then just mad -- not at him, but at the situation. She says she can't even life a normal life anymore.

Is it the end of the road for "TRL"? MTV may be canceling the show because ratings are at an all-time low. Right now, viewership is at about 300,000, down from almost 600,000 in 2001. One insider says the show is going to be canceled and rebranded. Last week, MTV president Michael Wolf abruptly quit.

To celebrate Brad Pitt's 43rd birthday, Clooney and a few pals treated him to dinner at West Hollywood's Il Sole. Spies say George gave Brad a beautifully-wrapped gift, and said,"I hope you like it, pal, I had it specially made just for you." Brad opened the box, looked stunned and said, "What the hell is this?" He held up his gift for all to see! It was a T-shirt with "Dad of the Year" emblazoned across the top — and below it, handmade from rubber and sewn on, were disgustingly realistic renditions of baby poop, baby barf and pee stains.
